Remember when Taco made that post about how *shocked* he was to find that a *pervert* had created an upskirt museum?

BWAHAHAHA!

Update: found it.

Remember when the forum hired the male stripper to perform at Ace's drumming place? Was really funny.

The thing I remember most was on the never-ending thread when someone posted a picture of a fat man vomiting into a plant pot. I don't know why, but it sticks in my mind.

My best memory probably is that moment, where one of our forum members had health problems and therefore could not log in anymore at his computer. The way this community reacted to that is one of the most heart warming moments I ever saw in a community where hardly anyone knows eachother for real.

As for topics... who can forget the bot threads :D

For me, the funniest thread was one in which a non-english speaking girl decided to make a list of sims that had bots in them. She used her opening post for the list and kept adding to it as we fed her sim names. But the sim names we fed her were english sentences, broken up so she didn't understand them. E.g.

I found some more:-
Idontthin
ksheun
dertands

It was something like that that started it off, and the girl swallowed them all and added them to her list of bots sims. All the ficticious sim name were messages to the rest of us, like that example, but the girl didn't understand them and thought they were sim names. You had to have followed it to appreciate how funny it all was.

It was on these forums that I heard about "DAZ Studio" and how to make animations in SL with it. Never been far with it but that was something cool that I learned from this place.

I've tried searching for it but it's difficult without remembering some exact phrase or other that was in it. I tried a number of searches without success. I wonder if anyone else can find it - Kylie? :)

I learnt a lot from the forums just by accident. The one that sticks in my own mind was when someone causally mentioned hiding groups and I had always wondered what my patner thought about my membership of "Black girls for white Men", "No I am NOT a Lesbian" and "Senior Semen".
I remember typing "You mean you can hide groups??!!"

02-02-2010 05:25
Just came across this thread and Phil's memory of the bot thread. So i decided to dig and found it.

Oh my, was it worth it, totally cruel but oh so funny

/327/d4/303537/1.html

not sure how to make it a link in here but im sure you guys can find it from that

Sadly there seems to be no conclusion so I guess nobody knows what actually happened with that list.

How can that be the definitive bot thread if I didn't participate? :) And did I sleep through January 2009 or something?

I'm reading through it. I'm only on page 6 and my eyes are watering with laughing. It's so damned funny!

I bought a pair of panties in an auction for $1000L.
I had friends bring me back when all looked pretty hopeless.
There have been arguments, hugs, smiles and tears.

Where's the classic where someone's sexual organs got stuck in the floor? That was fun.

Well, I can honestly say that that bots thread gave me the two best extended laughs in this forum. Once when it was being written and again today, when I re-read it.

For those who want a happy ending, I met her inworld and explained what it was all about. She was very good about it too.

The two threads I remember the most were Ad Farms I and Ad Farms II.

The first thread, I got my first warning from Katt Linden: Personal attacks are not appropriate in the forums. Flaming (posting a message that is intended to incite anger or directly attack a person or persons), ...[is] strongly discouraged."

The second thread, I controlled myself and got a Rowan Linden Bear :)

What? No, not that one...no not this one either.. no not those 282,738,273 ones, I was thinking about another...

I've tried searching for it but it's difficult without remembering some exact phrase or other that was in it.

The crummy 'Search' engine is one feature of these forums that I won't miss at all.

Perhaps the Lindens could do us all a big favour and repair that when they archive the forums. I don't know how I will live without the 'live' contributions to 'Scripting Tips' and 'Building Tips'.

From: Eli Schlegal on that thread
