Remember when the forum hired the male stripper to perform at Ace's drumming place? Was really funny.

Hehe, Blake something or other? He's still on my friend list. Good times. :D

Where's the classic where someone's sexual organs got stuck in the floor? That was fun.

There were 2; one stuck under the floor, causing the top scripts on the sim to go haywire, and another about finding it stuck to the front door, like a wreath of holly or something. I had to leave my office and walk around the block after reading those, to stop laughing.

Trout ratings.
Trout's Letters From the Lindens.
Trout's various scams and get rich quick schemes.
Trout's Tales of Biplane Adventures.
Getting to play Trout's secretary/personal scheduler.

Gosh, we lost a lot when he packed his attache case and moved uptown.

Maureen's breakfasts.

Argent's ferrets.

Rhaorth's classic post that Started It All.

Ann's beautiful vanity pictures. (Not to mention gorgeous pics from so many other forum women).

Brenda's panties, waving in salute.
(Now THAT would be a fitting memorial. A nice marble stone with an inscription, and a little flagpole with a pair of lacy panties flying from it. The only right place for it would be The Hangout, of course).

Cybin, you are welcome in the Cartel and at the Hangout. We even invited Strife back when we first started.

You guys deserve a lot of thanks from us all for sticking with a thankless task under what must be the strangest conditions imaginable.

You deserve much more than a word in a post in an thread about something else, but here's that word anyway:

*Thanks* !

Several favorites... Trout's Slut Ratings and Letters from the Lindens, the Bollywood Fil festivals, The rude nanny Thread *Hi Pixie*, the exchanges with Mike Bigwig, notably over his camera trademark usages and his love of "The Secret", and some hilarious usurping of monty Python sketches to fit forum events, most notably Raymonds "Liome" threads. And of course, the discussions that lead to the Forum Cartel itself, The ESC Sheepbot and McCarthyism.

I remember fairly early on the Forum Cartel threads. I remember joining one which must have been about 20 pages long, and not having a clue what was with the panties and pie stuff, but I joined in anyway.
And I remember chatting to Bilbo and Sally and Sandy and us having Brit time where we'd be the only ones active int he mornings.
And I remember my recipe for Bacon Pudding (ha! theres a search term for ya) making people feel ill.

Ohh I'm search back through. Fun times!

(other than the Undead thread, this is probably the one I remember most: http://bit.ly/bswGcW)

I remember back when Catherine Omega and Chris Omega posted here.

I remember the Rants and Raves forum. Boy was that ever a bad idea.

I remember Anshe Chung posting here. I liked most of Anshe's posts. She took a huge amount of flack and generally responded with a fair amount of grace and intelligence.

I remember a lot of socialist proselytizing. Dear Lord, I spelled proselytizing correctly without help. That's weird.

I won't mention names, but there seemed to me to be arguments that occured at very near the same time and day each week. The people who had the arguments all had ads in their signatures. I think they were not entirely spontaneous and sincere arguments, just play fighting by people far away who happened to like to drink and verbal joust at the same time while putting their ads out on display.

I remember Alby Yellowknife. Oh my.

The old Land and Economy and Poly Sci forums were full of acrimonious "debate" and people who I think were trying to influence the value of the Linden by posting scare stories, in hopes of taking advantage of the price changes resulting f r o m people's responses.

I recall a poster who said things that were really stupid, and never seemed to learn, no matter how much people tried to explain things to him, and feeling bad that other people would make fun of the guy over and over.

I remember talking about such things as escaping f r o m the 2D squares geometry, having something other than flatland as the basis for virtual worlds, and other such hopeful topics. Folks seems to have pretty much given up hope of such things, perhaps as a result of so many years of bad border crossings and gray textures.

I hope Ulrika Zugzwang is doing alright. She and her friend Kendra Bancroft certainly livened up the joint. Rest in peace, Kendra.

I recall epic forum battles between pairs such as Ulrika Zugzwang and Korg Stygian, pretty close to being a socialist versus an objectivist. Sparks flew!

I almost remember the name of the guy who had and may still have that really tall parcel of land near the Ivory Tower of Primitives.

I remember Enabran Temple's snarky wit and "recipe porn".

I remember when Torley Linden posted in here by his pre-Linden name, Torley Torgeson. I remember hanging out at the old Ahern Morris boardwalk, seeing Torley there with his synthesizer and his brightly colored suit, but that's inworld, not on the forums, so delete this sentence, I am wandering.

I remember the recurrent battles between atheists and theists in the off topic forum (later the sandbox), like a timewarp into the alt-dot usenet groups from ten years earlier.

Ok I'd better post this before a technical error happens.

I will regret losing my two group forums, the SuezaneC Baskerville forum and the Libertarians of Second Life forum. I assume the group forums will be eliminated.

I remember a very silly episode involving some newbie whose avatar was an anthropomorphic "dragon kin", who wore BDSM gear. This got him kicked out of an RP sim, whereupon he came to the forums to seriously complain that the sim owners should be forced to allow "dragon kin" to participate whilst wearing BDSM gear because such clothing was an important part of their culture.

Read the earlier posts in this thread, Ceka. The URL to that thread was posted, and I read through it all again - had a good spell of laughing all over again :D
