Post Upgrade

i am completely disgusted.
i cannot believe i am paying money for such a fucked up service. thinking its time to cash out, because its only getting worse and worse.

Seems to be doing basically ok to me, although I am probably not taxing it much just floating in the air reading the forums.

I am having some oddness with HUDs displaying in the wrong place from time to time.

Anyone notice that the color of water has changed to an "unreal" looking navy blue? The old water color was fine. Why do they keep messing with things?

well, if u just type afk, u go to sleep immidiatly

my neighbour just typed and she can`t get out of afk mode again, knew we were boring at times but not this bad lol

The color of water is the least of my worries...

None of my prim attachments will rez (being a furry, that's a big problem. I'm standing around naked, looking like a little Yoda with no prim head, feet, or tail), I'm spiking at 60% packet loss, the friends list is borked, can't respond to group messages, missing inventory...I'd go on but I think you get the idea.

Jeez, someone remind me why I'm paying $9.95 a month for this recreational stress relief again...

Oh, and that afk bug was there in the last 2 releases for me, so I don't think it's new.

Wow way to not let me downgrade to back when it was stable like i have been doing. I am glad i am not paying customer i would be really upset because i crash about every 10-15 minutes now without fail as someone else said time to go say hi to my ps2.

Oh, i`m pretty sure its on purpose.

Instead of making sure the game is good to go to the user base, they make the userbase be the 'testers'. Makes no sense. But do they ever?

for me, 1.15 is a fucking turd. i am rarely (and barely) able to log in, and when i can, without exception, i cannot move, i am ruthed, i crash within seconds. nothing works. the sim on which i own land, streibs, a land locked sim, is totally water, a drowned sim. or sometimes it looks like cotton-- not the land that i have come to know.

it's too bad we can't go back to a viewer that does work. lindens, please try to consider your many paying customers before attempting to "improve" anything. you are liable to "improve" yourself right out of business.

I'm in Streibs now, it's fine. No water, no problems.

How long has it been since you upgraded your video drivers?

when 1.14 came out. that's when i updated. couldn't use 1.14 because it was so, so laggy. 1.13 was the last one that worked.

What causes the disparity among experiences? Oddly enough, I had no problem, yet my alt suffered from the AFK syndrome (once only, mind you). I've noticed some odd script behaviour in places as well.

I believe it all comes down to the Heisenberg uncertainty principle. If you take SL and apply Schrödinger wave equation to it, you will find the probability that SL will work for you. I think I have solved the first order part of the equation, but I am unsure of what the effects of the higher order terms have on usablity.

It's different. I was horrified until I got the top box ticked. I do like greyer rather than bluer water, though. I can't imagine what someone without ripples enabled would think seeing it as a stranger.

You folks are so lucky to have in-world things to complain about! Just as in 1.14, I crash on startup every time. "Detecting hardware" then "Display settings have been set to recommended levels based on your system configuration." then crash. The workaround for 1.14 was to keep running 1.13, which I did, but that doesn't work any more. I don't recall seeing any explanation for the problem, let alone a solution... so I think I'm locked out of SL for good unless someone has a brilliant idea. I'm running a plain-vanilla eMachines T6524: AMD Athlon-64 3500+ CPU, ATI Radeon Xpress 200 graphics card WinXP "Media Center Edition" whatever that is (maybe XP Home with DVD driver).
