Well, he seems to manage avoid posting personal attacks, so he's one-up on a lot of people right there. I've never met the person, but the job seems to be getting done. No complaints here, so consider this a vote for Strife.

Have you stopped for a moment to consider your actions? If you have a complaint, why not make it privately? Would you like complete strangers coming into your place of business and singling you out for loud and derogatory public castigation?

Public praise and private admonishment would, at the very least, be a sign that you are showing concern for the feelings of others. And, I apologize for publicly rebuking you.

I have yet to see him/her ever post a comment regarding a threadlock that wasn't condescending and rude, such as this one. This thread in particular wasn't derailed and there was little reason at all to lock it beyond it being a discussion of a Linden Lab decision that most of the residents are unhappy with. So apparently critical comments and critical exploration of said decisions needs to be discussed on third-party sites now? What happened to the assurances that our opinions weren't being shot down and relegated to the shadows?

Strife has on many occasions made comments not appropriate for a person on the clock, even voluntarily. Another example, this response a month or so back when Uma Bauhaus said she was tiering down her account as protest against the forum closure:

The moderation of gutted forums and their limited traffic isnt exactly the priority issue - the fact that the forums are gutted and have limited traffic is.

That gives me an idea..anyone that would like to contribute to the Life and Times of Strife Onizuka, book release date for Summer 2008 could submit in triplicate any details that would be beneficial. His secondlife recorded and documented for all to see. Think of the prosperity, the notoriety, the money!!!

As I have said in the past, MadamG. What do you want to have happen? If it's to remind us all of Mr. Onizuka's behavior, you are accomplishing that and some. If you want change then might I suggest another approach. I'm sure as an option, LindenLab can just close the forums all together and walk away wiping their hands of the whole petty mess.

As far as I'm concerned the forums died last year when they decided to pull the plug on 99% of the sections that got anything done. Strife sticking around to hold on to the tiny piece of sway he holds anywhere in SL certainly doesn't make this shell anything worth keeping alive.

If you consider the forums dead, why do you care what a mod does on here?

I predict this thread will be locked, not because of a personal attack from Strife but because it's trolling and flaming.

I've no doubt this will be locked as well; the thread about voice was obviously just as trolling and needed Messiah Strife to save it from the clutches of reasonable discourse.

I don't always agree with Strife but I don't think he's doing a bad job. The 'insults' that he delivers are nothing compared to, for example, what you're doing.

I don't work for LL, volunteer or not. I can get away with it.
