I'm over in hillsboro and would be up for a get together in portland :). I'm an anti-social cuss so too much outside of portland and I probably wouldn't go, but portland ya :). Wolph Thorn lives up in Washington and Francis Chung lives downtown. Francis would go for sure if there was steak involved :P... or mustangs.

I'm over in good old Pullman but would love to get together with others...and love the west side anyways :p
Yay central and eastern WA. :) I am waiting for SL to become big enough that I actually find somebody from my teeny-tiny hometown in the southeastern corner of WA State.

Weekends or a Friday night work best for me for a Portland meetup. Please not the July 4th weekend, though.

So when
05-31-2006 10:26
I see lots of writing but no action. Name a place, time and date and most of us will try to make it.

Thought Plasma says in a post on page two of this thread that, if you email him and let him know you're interested in a Portland RL meetup, he will work on setting up a venue and date (if he has enough interested people). I emailed Thought a few days ago but haven't heard anything back. Maybe he hasn't had many people contact him.

(Of course, you Seattle-ites, of which I used to be one, are on your own. :D Though if you do plan a get-together, please post details as I try to make it up to Seattle on a somewhat regular basis.)

Let's start the party in SL!!!
06-06-2006 22:41
Hi all!
Well my vote is for Seattle, but I'd try to make it to Portland if that's where the majority end up.
I guess if there's enough of us we could do smaller hook-ups as well just to get aquainted. It would be awesome if we could extend friendship here in the forums so we would know when each other is on. That way we'd have the party started before we meet in RL!

Hi Northwesterners!

I'm from around tacoma, but am willing to go to Eugene or Portland as well. Maybe we could arrange a rolling get together, did that many years ago through another computer group. Several of us met in one town, then some went to the next, and then the next. Different groups each time, but it was fun!

Julianna and Coos, willb be down for sure sometime this summer!

My schedule is open on the weekends. I'm not much for planning these things but I'm thinkin bar in the Eugene area.... maybe Springfield so that those of us who smoke don't have to go outside.... :P

Just a few E-mails
06-11-2006 10:07
I have not had much e-mail response and the ones I have are split on location so I am hopping to get a little more synergy. Again if you are interested in meet up in the Portland/Vancouver area e-mail me and I will try and coordinate a venue and time.

thoughtplasma(at)yahoo.com

I will be out of town 3 of the next 4 weeks, June is crazy but I am hoping to put something together for July before SLCC.. get your tickets now for that by the way slconvention.org

Seattle here too.... Kazou... party at EMP?

EMP? Why not somewhere like Belltown Billiards, or somewhere with a large space that doesn't cost money to get into?

...they don't want to have to fight their way through the panhandlers? ;)

Seriously..... Belltown is one disturbing place.

I could definitely make a Portland area-based get-together! I am currently living about an hours drive away. As I am running my own business 6 days a week, I doubt I could make it to the Seattle area.

I could make it to a Seattle area meetup. Sorry, with gas prices the way they are I can't afford to make the three hour trip to Vancouver/Portland. That's assuming my little truck could even survive something longer than a ten mile trip. ^o^

Count me in. I live in Renton and am willing to travel to either Vancouver US or BC. If enough of us go, maybe we could carpool. Do we have a quorum yet? :D
Maybe what we need is a vote. Can one be added to an existing thread?

I would definately be interested in a Eugene one (as I live/work in Eugene/Springfield). If it was as far north as Portland I could make it on a weekend day. Up towards Seattle I'd have to spend the night somewhere. But I'm up for it! I'm planning to go to SLCC as well (long 8 hour drive, but Frogg and I are hoping to play live there).

North Portland!
06-15-2006 02:37
I'm an inhabitant of the great North Portland area (changing almost as quickly as SL). It seems like Portland can be a good central location for the locals as well as being the point between Seattle and Eugene.

Of course that would only address the I-5 corridor of the Pacific Northwest... there must be someone from Bend, Pendleton, Yakima, Spokane, Wenatchee, Boise, etc. as well as those on the coast from Port Townsend to Port Orford...

Sarah.

My friend and I are willing to take the Amtrak train down to portland for whenever the get together is. we are from seattle area, so if anyone is interested in going with us that would be cool.

I think we shoudl go somewhere where age wouldn't really matter because some of us arent 21, and i just think it would be a whole lot cool if we included everyone.

my e-mail is kleam1337@gmail.com
I also have aim: akfortyseven2463

if your interested in taking the train to portland with my friend and i please contact me.

I would definitely be interested in going to this! I would love to meet some of you I know in world. Eugene would be ideal, since I live in Coos Bay -- although Portland would be good also (Money, money, money..Mooooney). This would give me a chance to set Jaycatt's tail on fire...kidding! :P
