The fact that many people's husband/wives might think SL is porn - also a good one. Since is there PLENTY of cyber sexin going on.

Why not. I mentioned SL to one friend who said "I saw something about that on TV. Isn't that some sort of Cult?"

I believe it's a cult that worships a giant sun god.

I didn't state that it helped, I was guessing as to why he felt compelled to do it.

Do some you people have ANY empathy at all? Are you robots?

You know I kinda feel bad for you...
However... just because your mastercard is saying that stuff doesn't mean SL owes you some explanation.
For whatever it's worth, it is the banks descretion, and if they think SL is a porn site, or if they think SL is filled with crooks who launder money using stolen credit cards... ( because I am sure someone reported that to the bank, or rather someones... plural because I am sure something major must have happened in order for you to get two calls and two cards being blocked ) then that is what they think... but anyone with any kind of intelligence knows that SL is not a porn site, thought it does have adult content that can hardley classify SL as a porn site. LOL
As for money laundering, crooks use stolen credit cards all the time, on all kinds of websites, even eBay is regularly a target.
Anyhow... I am guessing you are pissed off because you can't buy lindens with your credit card, why not attempt to earn Lindens by creating in game content? If SL is still of interest to you after your wife and daughter have ridiculed you on your use of a mastercard on a porn site ( ROFL ) which I think is hilarious as hell, btw.... um, you have many avenues to persue gaining L$ by means of creativity... then I will wish you luck.
:p

Good Luck!

It seems that whenever I enter into a blog I kinda "kill" them (no one replies when I've been on) BUT I feel sorry for the guy who was blocked. I also feel incensed that as soon as someone complains a whole pile of "I'm all right Jacks" jump on poor sods like him and start to critique personality/attitude/gamesmanship/typing skills. Obviously the poor sod has problems ith his bank/card. Really, try and have a bit of sense. Some of you trolls (trogs) live on this resident answers and seem to peer down at avs who actually are on SL. And Linden Labs DOES make mistakes. And, we are not evil-minded sinners when we complain.

The ones annoyed by the multiple posts have a point

Why Colette? Why do people get so upset about what is really insignificant in the big picture?

It only makes things worse when people have to gang pile on someone who is upset and overreacting.

Why do people get so worked up about what other people say on here?

Why can't they just abuse report and move on? Why do they have to parody, call names, and carry on as bad or nearly as bad as the OP in their own ways?

*Mystified*

Sometimes I think that the anonimity afforded people on the net will be the eventual undoing of all common decency, because the real persons sniping from behind their keyboards are insulated from most repercussions for piss poor behaviour.

I call that cowardice.

I said why after the quoted statement - the post in the other Forum seems pretty bogus.

He would have intentionally changed the poll to include who votes in it, thus not the work of a frantic mind.

The poll is also a bit on the mean spirited side.

Im not ganging up on anyone - And you have a point I said so. However that one post seems fishy to me.

It could be it was still just a frustrated paniced effort - but the poll really sticks out as a possible sore thumb.

If a person is the victim of their own stupidity, then they deserve no pity from me. Making 3 threads, which are combative and insulting pretty much end all sympathy from me.

Boy I sure hope you never get unnecessarily upset and feel hopeless for getting help from some stupid mistake or misunderstanding. :)

Wonder if you would like to be told how stupid you are. Think about it, o perfect one. LOL

>>A whole lotta justifications<<
I saw it before you edited it, but thanks for going to the trouble. :)

I still think your an unhelpful troll, in this case. I read his posts, all of them, and I still don't arrive at the conclusion that it would be a good idea to mock him and twist his words into quotes that I think make me look oh so clever.

A hallmark of a troll is to take people's words, rewrite them into fake quotes. Yanno "PWNED!" and all that. Whats wrong Winter, you were obviously HOPING for a response, and you got one, but it come from the wrong person, and now you're upset at being called out for churlish behaviour? Is that it?

Let me ask, and this is not just for you Winter, if this person were your friend, your relative, spouse, what have you, would you be treating them with such derision over their freakout?

I'm not going to point by point you beccause I wholly disagree with your characterisation of myself and the OP. I will say that I wasn't accusing you personally of calling him a liar, I was throwing out some behaviours that I have seen. Only the part that pertains to your actions... well... pertains to you. Also, I acknoweldeged that he humiliated himself. Must you jump in to help him further down that road? The answer is self-evident I suppose.

No no, I didn't mean you were ganging on him, I was asking for your insight as to why others feel its appropriate to make a bad situation worse.

You're a VERY level headed poster and I nearly always am amazed at your ability to approach these things with logic and calmness.

This goes much deeper (for me) and farther than just his thread, and I probably picked the wrong thread to express it, but there is a contingent here that just slavers for fresh meat to rip up, and they have done it in many threads where the OP wasn't being so dramatic. Even mild complaints about LL, it's policy making, or its systems seem to draw all sorts of posturing, chest puffing, scorn, and ridicule, and it serves no purpose other than to fluff their egos at the expense of others, as far as I can tell.

So then, what's your excuse for being rude in return?

Sunspot, you can flame me back if you want at this point. it won't get a reply from me.

[...] Interesting trivia.. out of the four pages of posts I waded through in which Sunspot posted.. 75% or more of them were "calling the other poster a troll" or complaining about people complaining about people complaining.. ad nauseum.

You sure take exception to being called a troll, I wonder... why is that?

You may not be a career troll, but that revised quotes post you wrote was simply a troll post.

Well thank you -

I wonder if possibly the OP lost his temper and did the poll becuase of that while the first 2 were considerable frustration.

He did shout down a few of the early responders - leading to a escalation in this thread especially. Of course you can imagine the mood youd be in ...

Your right its common for some posters (not neccesarily those on this thread though) to judge people to harshly and flame them - but then thats kind of alwyas been a forums staple even before Second Life.

Back on topic I can imagine having family conflict over just a game must really be a lot to deal with.

That the Bank would include LL as a possible money laundering operation is the real issue I see on the whole thread - that transcends the OP's concern.

Think about the implications - You COULD launder money using Second Life. But youd need a lot of accounts to do it.

But that Potential sets LL up for further investigations - or even more likely =/ more Fox news stories.

To the OP good luck with your family and your Mastercard.
