To everyone NOT in the SLPD, please disregard this post... it is of no importance to you.

ATTENTION TO EVERYONE IN THE SLPD:
I am sorry to say that I am having major computer problems. Unfortunately, I will not be able to be online for up to 6 weeks while I am working on this issue. You may find me online at various times dispersed throughout, but I will NOT be online for most of this time. I currently am giving first in command to Jimmy Bishop... he is now in charge during my absence. If you experience any problems with his command, please do not hesitate to email me (I am able to check email from different locations) and I will respond as soon as possible. I will miss SL during this time, but I cannot be online. Thank you for your understanding, and good luck. (No, I have not been suspended, I am just experiencing problems with my computer, so don't freak out.)

If you have any questions, PLEASE EMAIL ME... I am trying to keep the connection between me and SLPD while offline.

Jimmy, please email me too, I have some terms to discuss with you.

My email address is: stonedchipmunkrocksATgmailDOTcom
(please change AT and DOT).

P.S.: Even though I am OFFLINE, that doesn't mean that the SLPD is to be inactive. If I come back and I find the SLPD to be inactive, I will personally find each one of you and kick your derry-air (excuse my atrocious spelling).

P.P.S.: You may also PM me if you wish, but emailing is much faster (and I can get your email address.)

So, get out there and get some griefers for me ;) . Oh, and by the way, I need EVERYONE to understand that the SLPD has NO affiliation with Linden Labs, the Lindens, or the admins. Thank you.

Hi SLPD, I was charged twice for my tier this month. Could you get that refunded for me?

I agree. It is disrespectful to our men in blue.

I have been having griefer issues on my land in Atlas.
There is a band of pirates raiding and pilaging the residents. They took me rum. :(
Is this something the SLPD can help us with? Or is there a maritime authority that we should contact?

There's really no reason for a police department in Second Life either, so...

I'd like to take the time to make a notice to the 'SLPD' while this is here.

Touch anyone on my land or near me and I will report BOTH of you for your greifing. Intention doesn't negate assault with a scripted object.

That is all. Return to your normal idiocy.

Plz freeze this topic

Someone PLEASE freeze this, I am somewhat offended by the comments above. The SLPD is only a ROLEPLAYING GROUP (Reitsuki, it means that we DO report people like mad, so we are technically "of use" to SL, but we are not affiliated with LL) so don't bitch to the Lindens, oh and Jonas... where did that come from? If your land is not specified as private property, everyone in SL has the right to be there. I don't see why us being on your land is a problem, if you have any reason for it please PM me and we will talk about it.
Schwanson, if your post was not a joke, use the Reporting tool, and then inform Lindens if your problems get worse. If the post was a joke, then it wasn't really funny.
LAST NOTICE TO SLPD MEMBERS IN THIS TOPIC:
We now have a website! But don't bitch to me if it's crap, I didn't make it...
Also getting forums, check back later for link.

No, that's still of no use to SL. People can report things on their own, it's none of your buisness if the incident doesnt concern you. Instead, you just generate extra work for LL, thus actually managing to be of negative use to SL.

You can be at my shop, I never said I had a problem with that.

Greifing on the other hand will not be tolerated by me no matter who does it.

Another reply...

Your rum is of no use to me ;)
And I personally do a background check on everyone in the SLPD, I assure you we hire no griefers.

About the use to SL... I partially agree with you, Reitsuki, but if you notice, there are a crapload of griefers nowadays. And what do you think LL likes better: less work or less griefers? (I chose the latter, what would you choose? Maybe you are a griefer, I don't know.) I'm just saying that LL wants to get rid of griefers, otherwise they wouldn't have made the Liasons. Plz don't quote me on that, it was just an idea ;)
So, therefore, we are trying to lend a hand to LL (NOT AFFILIATION!) by helping out the Lindens a bit by decreasing their workload... yes, I said decreasing. Even though they may have more paperwork, they don't have to go around catching griefers all the time, SLPD actually resolves a good 50% of incidents, just by evacuating the residents and surrounding the offender, he has nowhere to go, he gives in (unless he teleports, then we just catch him later.) Suprisingly, we don't call the Lindens every time. And about how it isn't our business... it isn't. But... why do you think we get incidents to handle? BECAUSE WE GET CALLS. That means that the dude needs help, so we help him. We're just a sort of "helping hand" to the dude, and therefore he wants our help, therefore it is our business, because the dude usually backs up, so we're just standing there. Should we just get shot? I don't think so. So we kick in.

So, any more questions, please PM me. AND SOMEONE PLZ LOCK THIS TOPIC!

Even if you are 'called' in be warned. I will stay (by force if needbe) as I am stubborn agaisnt greifers. I will also report each and everyone of the greifers, including 'slpd' member susing attacks and assault or caging scripts.

It doesn't matter the reason if its greifing.

According to the company you claim to be helping, that is EXACTLY what you are supposed to do, and not a thing more.

I really debated posting in this thread or not, so here goes.

A police department in SL may be pointless/redundant, but this is Second Life, a place to enact fantasies that can't be realized IRL for one reason or another. For example, I'd love to be a cop IRL, but I can't due to medical problems, so I play one in SL. And there are quite a few people who want to be police officers in SL, enough to staff several departments. For the most part, it's just playing a role and playing with cool toys, but we also do some good. I spent most of last night trying to find a hidden push object in a sandbox to report it.

We may not be needed, but what harm is there in our existance? We're just trying to have fun, like everyone else here. And if you see an SLPD member griefing, please let someone in charge know about it, so that person can be properly disciplined for giving our department a bad reputation.

Jonas: You and I have disagreed in the past, and I can't speak for the department, but I personally do not use scripted weapons at all unless the target(s) consent, or if it's a damage area, or for demonstration purposes. Just letting you know.

Felix, see thats fine. Ive been shot at and shot back at times, and mostly used scripts for poking fun with friends. A notable instance is using a 'hp' style animtor to knock the others out during a game of 'live fire' tag. Lots of fun:) Unfortunately 1.9 broke our script for it so its just touch tag now :( (it was a freebie..nothing worth getting upset over really)

Its when you don't have the others consent..or the other examples you gave. Thats when its greifing. Youre methods are safe, I just don't agree with some of the vigilantes I've seen who come un shooting any greifer they hear about.

A SECURITY/POLICE FORCE. i also dont want anthing to do with.
i thought a police force needed a government to exist. as far as i was concerned there is no government in sl. we are self governing to a point anyways. so i dont recognise it anywas...lol
