It seems like just a year ago, we were at a similar place, people freaking out, gloom and doom, protests, signs, people burning themselves in effigy. The sky was also falling then, according to some yet here we stand a year later, perfectly fine, sky still firmly intact (and much prettier than it used to be, great job on the whole sunset thing LL). In honor of this new round of hysteria, I say to you Happy Birthday, Chicken Little! I know it is a bit belated, but I haven't seen you around since right before version 1.2. Welcome back, watch out for pieces of the sky falling on your cake.

We survived, the experience (it's not a game) became stronger and we all went on to love it more and have greater fun...

Hahaha, took me a couple of viewings to spot this one.

I normally ignore all of the "Happy Birthday" postings.

Caught this out of the corner of my eye and nearly fell out of my chair!

I keep hoping that somehow Intelligence will suddenly grip people's minds on here - but I'm also cynical enough to realize that's a Pipe-Dream.

I'm beginning to suspect that massive virtual societal upheaval is how Philip and Co. deal with the post-holiday blues!

Seriously, I think that if many of the newer folk understood how dedicated Philip, Cory, Robin, et al are to making SL not just survive but thrive, they might be a bit less worried and more trusting that these changes will work out. The Lindens have the best interests of SL in mind, and they have the tools for monitoring and determining the best course of action. So, everybody hold your noses, take a deep breath, and plunge in to the waters of change! It will be okie-dokie.

Funny bit, I was thinking about that other place and the doom and gloom, just the same. The other thought that comes to mind and did about a year ago (EHC issues for a memory jolt) and the thought that events might need to be interesting or creative or fun to get attendance.

Spam Money/Raffle balls are neat and all but I've kinda missed trivia contests, something engaging and interactive. I know, silly me, I'd like to interact w/interesting folks online. Having money give-away incentive removed (for some), or reduced, gee do we think that events might be more fun now?

Oh the horror, we might have fun.
