From: Memir Quinn Ah but you did agree to the TOS, and they have adjusted stipends for premium and basic users alike in the past and just recently. Your contract with LL is the TOS and the CS, neither of which guarantee you a stipend of any stripe.
Actually, the TOS doesn't say anything about stipends, or Premium membership. Exactly because of that, anyone who had paid in advance for a Premium membership could - if stipends were cut - argue that they had been mis-sold, ie trade descriptions had been breached, because there is nothing on the Premium pages (not even in the "small print" that says that the stipend might stop at any time. Hey, they've altered them before, and they will in all likelihood do so again and the TOS covers them in this case, you could always ask the hotline/Linden Answers but past history is good enough for me. In any event they likely wont ever cut completely (but they've been very willing to reduce them in the past and will likely do so again in the future) for the reasons I and other have outlined before, and if they did it may well be at the elimination of that entire classification of user and the current tier system which would likely be replaced by a per meter tier. ^.^ Any user whom feels they've a case can attempt to bring one, although I'm not entirely certain how far that would go, if anywhere at all given the nature of the medium.

This is not perspective this is FACT until people understand that players can and will disappear from a game with a rather low active population to begin with and that this will hurt individual gaming experiences lack of understanding will exist. What you see as perspective is not at the time i signed up i thought i had purchased a product that would remain as such. If LL is in such a state that they have to constantly change tos and memberships then there is a problem. Players are getting messed with and when they can no longer afford to play they will be forced to leave and the fact is that I WILL BE FORCED TO LEAVE. If you want to say that is emotional fine, but i want to stay and play this game i like it so when i see this stuff occuring which is there in an attempt to sway LL head in their favour and its going to cause me to have to leave I"M gonna say something. The lindex, the gaming economy etc does not influence the fact that removal of certain things and increasing the price to playthe game will cause me to not be able to afford it. That is a seperate thing. When people start looking at the human beings who play the game maybe just maybe it will sink in. Heck even bloop said he could see my why i would be against the removal of these premium benefits and he is the linden burner. My budget is limited to x dollars per month for this stuff as its a form of entertainment for me when its gone its gone and neither you nor LL can force more money into my pocket that does nto exist in order to play this game. That is not a "feeling" or "point of view' that is cold hard FACT. Its completely non arguable i'm not here to debate the finer points of economics im' here to post my position on what it will do to me and stand up and be counted in fading hopes that people who frequent these boards who in fact are the minority of the game will start talking to those ingame and seeing that maybe just maybe it may harm the game. This gaming population cannot take a large hit to loss of memberships unlike others if 500 people leave its gonna hurt. In other games if 500 people leave it wont be but a drop in the bucket. i know i know you think its not worth trying to make sure doens't happen as its only 1 dollar or two but since my budget only allows me to spend x dollars a month and then its gone i can't pull money from thin air i want to prevent that and if your right and they do this i'm gone and so likely are many others but it doesn't hurt to stand up and say something about it and i have i just dont like being laughed at and mocked while doing so which is pretty much what you do I and other "entertain you" great but can you find a more appropriate scenario to get that entertainment because quite frankly its in poor taste Torley Linden: I've closed this thread because of some really nasty, lame language used as personal attacks. Totally inappropriate and has no place here in the forums. The world's a hard enough place at times already--please be sure to read the forum Guidelines.
