Buyer Beware!!!!

I just received an IM concerning land being offered for sale. I went to look at the land and found out it is in a private estate and the 1/2 a sim, cant in fact be sold, as those of us who own private estates know. I tried to explain this to the person and I was ejected from the land. The bidding was to start at 27K for 1/2 a sim. This person did not want to hear that estate land could not be sold and I can only assume that is why I was ejected.

To anyone looking to buy land you cant infact buy land in a private estate. This land can be reclaimed from you at any time.

Buyer beware - Alliez is bad mouthing a competitor rather than providing a superior service.

I can't say enough about what a character flaw this is.

And yes, the land can be sold. FYI, LindenLab can reclaim land away from you at any point as well.

People sell land on islands. Alliez knows this full well but yet felt the need to contradict this fact.

You go ahead and make sure no one listens to her Blaze. She is not questioning that it happens, she is fully aware of that lol, she is pointing out its not a land sale. Something that your opinion on seems to change with your mood.

If someone was defrauding someone else, then sure, feel free to warn. Make sure you don't purchase goods unless you understand clearly what you are getting.

Just like people shouldn't buy land from LindenLab without knowing that anyone can set up shop next door, that if you're late on a tier payment they can reclaim the land, that your data isn't backed up and can vanish off their servers, etc etc.

My opinion is that leasing will be the answer to all our prayers when it is implimented.

Until then, let's play fair and stop undermining our competitors.

Alliez should not be talking like this when she knows her main competitors sell land and she rents them.

That would be like a land seller posting how you shouldn't "rent land you'll just get cheated because I know renting land can't be done properly because LSL doesn't support it!!"

It's just a deep character flaw when you resort to fear uncertainty and doubt in order to compete.

And maybe she isn't purposely trying to generate FUD, maybe she really is just trying to warn people, but come on - she should know better when her business is all about land renting not to be talking like this.

Playing the devils advocate is one thing, saying these things when it helps you over direct competition is a completely different issue.

First of all it's not about getting an advantage, its about leveling the field. Second of all, does that mean that someone who has a vested interest in any area of SL is not permitted to speak up about it?

Well, you shouldn't equivocate when it's about your competition.

That's just bad cricket man. If that's what you need to do in order to win, then you're going to find life pretty tough sloggin'.

If you want to warn people that they can't list their land in the land sales dialog after they have bought it - by all means. Maybe you might want to be fair though and let them know they can still list it in the Shopping category under classifieds, they can list it on SLExchange, and in the find search.

Estate land can not be sold. And of c ourse LL can reclaim land if not paid for. I would like to see it in writing that a private estate can be split up and sold. Please provide me with this information. I would appreciate it as would many others.

Please explain yourself, I would be interested in knowing what I did for one. A person cant sell parts of a private estate. Anyone who owns an estate knows that, or they should. This person I speak of is not a land barron but someone new to this .
