With stores I sell in each having their own group, a couple of my own groups, a residents group etc, I'm now at the point of having to leave a group that I actually care about each time I need to join another. This shouldn't be a problem to implement.

i agree i keep having to leave ones to add new ones... even worce cause alot of groups are so i can sell somewhere and i cant leave them.

I agree, most of my groups are cause I have to be in that group to sell on that land or my vendors get returned (yes a couple of social or friends ones)
I shouldnt have to leave a good group just so I get another place to sell at!
I dont want to keep leaving friends groups

Also I would like to see an extra group tier. Maybe manager, something like that.

So you can assign stuff they can do above the member level but retain the right to sell land or edit land, stuff like that.

Yes, please. Many more groups.
Then we'll work on making the groups more flexible about voting, money, land, titles, and the like.

I agree with raising the group limit and also the addition of catagories for groups. Thank you, Alexis, for starting this thread. This is something I've been thinking about recently and I was happy to see someone raise the issue for discussion in the forums.

Has LL ever said why the limit exists? We have been clamoring for this since beta, and it has been ignored.

I and I will MASSIVELY vote for a YES (which makes a few just for me =))

Alrighty, I am a designer in SL but i dont use malls a lot (in fact just one and only because i Won the right to expose at a raffle), thought here is my point :

Even if NOT using Groups for Malls, 10 is too short,
-I have this Group I am in, for example, that is not active anymore but gave me so much fun when it was that i DONT WANT to Quit it (CHOLOS POR VIDA)
-I am also in a Designer s Group, which is Logical, I AM a designer.
-I have my own little Group for me and a few friends that s not the most active but that s the TITLE I use the MOST (Crazy Avatars)
-I am in the Mall Group where i WON the right to Expose.
-I am in a Group where the Project is to do Movies and where i ll be Set Designer when the land is Ready.
-I am in another where the goal is to HELP new Designers to Come Out offering em Classes and a place to Expose.
-I am French and i joined THE french Group of SL.
-I am European and was invited by my Friend and Foundator of the European Group to Join as an Officer. So did I.
-I was also invited in another Designer s Group which mainly Creates Events, I accepted, i cant stop Building anyway =)
-I am Interrested in the SL History and did a few Researches in that Way, retrieving for example all the first MAPS of SL during and after Beta Release, so I joined a SL Historical Group too.................

AND THAT S IT, I M STUCKED NOW....... I would have liked to join SECONDVOICE for example, but it s IMPOSSIBLE, ALL THE GROUPS I AM IN ARE VITAL TO ME AND I CANT LEAVE ANY I AM IN NOW... Not mentionning that i d LOVE to Join MORE DESIGNERS Groups, that if I am taken as a Model at the end of this week, I will HAVE to ABANDON a GROUP/PROJECT I am IN if i am accepted for the Job.......

So it s not even a question of Mall Groups, but a Question of USEFUL Groups to a Given Player... Dont you Think ?

I am a Very Active Avatar, Have TONS of Projects, will Participate in even More, WHEN WILL I BE GIVEN THE RIGHT TO STAY IN EACH GROUP I PARTICIPATED IN ACTIVELY AND NOT BEING OBLIGED TO QUIT ONE TO BE PART OF A NEW PROJECT ???????????????

Hey, the more the merrier. I vote yea.

I suggest a limited number of social circles and unlimited number of business groups for practical purposes like mall membership, land ownership etc.

This thread has been going for over a month, and the idea has been tossed around for a year or more. I don't think they are going to change this anytime soon.

I think 10 is enough. Most groups are just for the title, anyway.

1) This needs to be implented so merchants can set up in more vendor spaces that require group settings to keep their items from being returned...

- OR -

2) Land owners get more control over the objects on their land, including the ability to return ANY user's items, via menu AND via scripts.
