If I buy land I fully expect to be able to build whatever I want on it as long as I am not violating the TOS. If my neghbors dont like it, then tough, they can get over it or cry. If they lag then thats tough cookies, if im paying for my land then I will leech evey bit of bandwidth it has as long as I am allowed to. If I want to build a neon pink abortion clinic then I shall, and thats my perogitive. Let the game run itself. Let people build clubs, furry bondage parlors, jazz bars, fashion botiques, poker rooms, simulated combat arenas, whatever. It's their right.

this is one of those times when the post was so ridiculous that I will simply do a hack-and-slash on the quote... here goes:
If ... I am ... violating ... my neghbors, dont ... cry. ... they... will ... build a neon pink abortion ... game. ... Let people build ... furry bondage ... simulated combat arenas, whatever. It's ... right. I can not believe you would say such things! Pshaw! *snickers* _____________________

What I really don't understand is why so many people are so hell-bent on building clubs next to people's homes. If you wanna talk about an FPS drop, when I moved into my sim, the FPS was close to 2500. Now it's lucky to get to 150.
I really can't believe we have this discussion. "I am against zoning because I pay my money every month and that means I can be an ass!" Pfft. If you want to build whatever you want to build, then get your own sim. If you wanna live with the rest of us, you should have to behave. _____________________

I would like to see the older sims zoned as well if all the people owning land in the sim agree.
Wow..... I love when someone states in the forums that they are a griefer, makes it easier to ban, thanx Dabby _____________________

I slept since Yesterday so final statement....
<<<<<<<<<<<Waves Majic Wand POOOOOOOOOOOOOF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have Zoning its called Land tools Use em deal with them Live with it. Just dont use em to get griefed or banned. Funny We are given tools to keep people off of our property however when someone cant get on it they go and report the owner because they cant get in the property. That is almost as stupid as saying put locks on your doors and windows but dont lock them so the burgler wont get hurt when they come in. Cie La Vie Shadow _____________________

I guess there is a case here for new Linden specified themed sims. I can't really see any objections with making a few new 'residents only' sims for people who simply want a little house and will accept and abide by the rules of that sim. But as has been said before, I don't want to see the Lindens having to deal with this to the detriment of bugfixes and development. Word. That is the only kind of zoning I could possibly endorse. I mean if you OWN the land, well, do what you like with it. But there shouldn't be anyone RUNNING a sim in the first place. If LL wants to make some special sims that are zoned, fine. Hell, if they want to make special sims that have a government, ok. I don't have to live there or go there. But the preponderance of new land should be privately owned and controlled only by it's owner. If LL needs to work on load-balancing multiple avs, well ok. But zoning is one of those seemingly innocuous things that distorts everything. Most of the rules that screw up our RLs are the tiny little tyrannies that eat us up in small bites. |

These days people are so thin skinned almost anything you do could be considered griefing. |

Anyone who says they don't grief are only fooling themselves. These days people are so thin skinned almost anything you do could be considered griefing. Ah. Classic defence. That old 'but we're all griefers really' chestnut. Maybe you could try not doing things inworld to people that would generally offend? We have a whole raft of forums for that, anyway. Oh wait. You found that out already. Well done. And everyone will be along to give you a warm welcome to SL in a moment, I'm sure. |

I find it interesting how this question is slowly resolving it self in an organic way via the HiroLand / Dreamland sims.
Hopefully LL won't kill the tier discount and ruin what little we have in Zoning. _____________________
