It takes character to post a statement like this, thanks Pathfinder *hugs*

From: Pathfinder Linden

Yes, that was me in the IRC channel.

My comments were not appropriate as a LL employee, and I have been duly warned about this. It is never appropriate for a LL employee to talk about another Resident like that, and I fully understand my mistake and take full responsibility for it.

I want to publically apologize to Prokofy, to LL, and to all the Residents for my improper behavior. I assure you it will never happen again. I know actions speak louder than words, so I hope to prove my sincereness about this from now on in how I conduct myself both here, in SL itself, and on any 3rd party sites.

I have no excuses for my behavior, and will not try to justify my actions in any way. I just hope people believe me when I say that my true desire is to try and keep people focused on positive discussions in the forums and to prevent people from attacking each other. There is so much potential for positively shaping the evolution of SL here, and it saddens me beyond words when I see that rare opportunity wasted.

Please be good to each other

You need to realize that the guy actually goes through and reads all the endless pages of drama before locking it. I can't imagine myself doing that.

No, it doesn't really take character, it's just what you have to do to try to build bridges back up again and keep your job when you've crossed a line.

Pathfinder

You are human and as such mistakes happen.

As a former high school teacher I know very well how easy it is to slide unintentionally into this kind of thing (Teacher Lounge Talk LOL). It happens. You apologise and move on.

So straighten your shoulders mon ami and face a new day with a cheerful heart.

Yay!

Pass the Cheez-its to Pathfinder. He could use a snack. Goodness knows how many meals he misses reading all this stuff.

Be that as it may... At least Path is honest enough to ADMIT a mistake. And frankly, it takes a load of bravery to post something like that AFTER the constant barrage of negative things people have posted. How many of us would have posted a public apology after all that?

Stuff Happens Pathfinder

Take a deep breath, smile and continue on your path.

Don't let it affect your vision of positively shaping the evolution of SL, it will happen, but it is after all, an evolution though at times I'm sure it seems like a revolution.

/**** Hugs - Rose.

I agree that Pathfinder has shown, once again, that he is an open, intelligent person that really cares about the forums and Second Life.

Nicely done, Pathfinder. Of course, I never thought you needed to apologize, but in doing so, you have shown something that a certain someone on the forums lacks: class.

*Hugs*

It's sad that somebody is forced to apologize for speaking their mind in the wrong place at the wrong time. I like mods who are a little less professional and a little more human.

With him being warned and causing many people to question what's going on, this is not about him being honest or brave enough to admit a mistake, it's about him having to admit a mistake. Do you think the Lindens would honestly have brushed this under the carpet without making him post such a statement? Such a statement was required for him to still act as forum moderator here, the Lindens know that and so does he. So of course he had to apologise. How he acts from here will determine whether it has had an effect on him or is lip service.

So I can't congratulate him on this because I don't see anything to congratulate him for - this is a requirement for him to continue. I just hope that in future he does stick to his statement and that something like that never happens again. If he does I'm sure this will be well and truly forgotten and everybody will be able to move forward.

Thank you Pathfinder. :)

Though, Moopf, (and this is further kudos to you Path), even if he was forced to apologize by LL to remain a moderator, he did a darn good job. He could've just said, yep, sorry. And left it at that. I think he spoke with grace and responsibility to his role as a moderator.

Let it go Moopf. You're not doing anything to improve the situation by wagging your finger and rubbing his nose in it.

Thanks for all that you do, Pathfinder. It's a thankless job but please know that your efforts are appreciated greatly!

<stuff>

it's an apology, and it acknowledges the error, and he was chastised. he's got a job listening to us kvetch all the time. and he's human. he erred and he's made what ammends he can.

please let it go and let's get on from here.

*HUGS* Pathfinder!! I too felt you had no need to apologize, but as a resident of this second life I accept your apology!

I for one love that you are a representative of Linden Lab and I too look forward to watching this world evolve and know that it is a richer, better place, because you and so many other wonderful people are in it! :)
