From: Chicago Kent You people are acting as if we live in a dictatorship. Our government is based in the people. They listen to what the people want. They get their ideas from the PEOPLE, not the experts. Our government? Are you referring to the government of the United States? Have you missed the memo that there are lots of people in SL and on the forums from Europe, Australia, and Central America... just to mention the ones I know about for sure.

From: Zuzi Martinez i thought we were an autonomous collective. We're an anarcho-syndicalist commune.

if I went 'round saying I was an emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

From: Nogard Codesmith Has anyone built a large scale in-world tribute to MP yet? Now that we have custom animations, someone definitely needs to do the ministry of silly walks!

Chicago has to be a troll's alt. I can't place who. I've concluded that it's time to stop feeding the troll; he's clearly playing us

But if we all work hard and write lots of letters, it can become a magical place without problems ever, where everyone listens and acts upon what everyone else says.

Emma, it can certainly approach that. It just requires all of us working together to bring about change. Particularly change in regards to an open, free market.

From: someone Mr. Linden, Preserve the Free Market When you have to ask someone powerful to "preserve" something that you believe is or should be "free," you can already see that it is not free.

This is not "free". It was never promised to be as such. It is a company, within a capitalist economy within a republic. They have accountants and they consult with economists. They pay their employees. They have a job and that is to provide a service. That service doesn't extend to stroking people who are angry at the concept of linear time.

From: Chicago Kent Also, stipends need to be eliminated.
Why do they exist? Its simply free money. In a free market, there is no free money. Somebody always pays.
When you give away free money, people feel no need to go out and create income. Ummmm, then where would new money come from? There's only so many $L around, if there was no new money as SL grows .....? Unless you mean for this free market you propose can print it's own money? How? With what regulation against inflation? And please do NOT simply say that the free market would regulate itself, that's too fluffy
