I just spotted this one (thanks, Ironchef) and decided it needs a bump, so here goes:

Age: I turned 29 this year (again ;) )
Family: Husband, two small monster...I mean, kids
Pets: Two evil cats, some fish who entertain the cats and look nervous
Work: Stay-at-home mom (worked previously as university student advisor)
Education: B.A. English, minors in communications and partying
Location: Vancouver, WA, 10 miles north of Portland, OR (read: suburban hell)
Hobbies: Reading, movies, playing softball, sewing, writing, cooking (especially Thai and Indian food)
SL name origin: Comes from the gemstone family my birthstone, an emerald, belongs to
Astrological sign: Gemini
RL name: Molly
Reasons I'm in SL: Have moved 3 times in past 5 years for husband's job, tired of making new friends IRL and then giving them up when we move (again), there are interesting and fun people here, I can make virtual clothes :)

I'm a somewhat small monster of indeterminate age, with blue fur and a red nose. I frequently torment Froggy, and am somewhat hapless at every career I attempt. I also occasionally moonlight as an inept superhero.

No wait, I'm thinking of Grover.

Ack! I have something in common with Darwin... :) I'm an interface programmer/designer for a Maryland computer game company. (Name Drop: Ever heard of Morrowind? I hope so...)

Age, thirty-(counts)-two. Married for 6 years and expecting our first little one next spring. We have two cats, Daisy and Gunther, both very loving and friendly. I'm a Mac guy and regret that i had to buy a PC to play Second Life (where's that Mac version??!:)) but it's worth even that.

My main hobby (at least prior to SL) is(was) making special effect puppetry videos. You can seem them on the web at Fluff & Such. I do need to do another one soon, or I'll be forgotten by my fan. (Well, maybe he'll get over it...) :)

I've always been a Lego enthusiast (my desk at work is covered with them... and a Mindstorms unit) and Second Life has brought that love into the virtual age.

Children and small animals love me for some strange, unknown reason inexplicable to science.

Edit: Oh, and the 1st name is Chris. :)

Well well well, looks like I missed this post, haha...

Well, where to start (I'm at work so I have time to babble)... My name is [10/20--I'm removing this ;)], my hometown is in Connecticut but while I'm in college I'm in upstate(ish) New York going for Adolescence English Education. I'm 19, will be 20 in October, and I'm a stereotypical Libra, hehe. Both at school and at home I live with my boyfriend; he's well-engraved in my life and we've been together for over three years now... I'm hoping to teach abroad when I get older... hm... what else... Oh! And Daemioth is absolutely a character. I'm really only slightly like Daemioth. Only time [me in FL] shows through Daemioth is when Daemioth gets mad. :P

Let's see... I like writing, reading literature, video gaming (particularly RPGs, console), hanging out with friends, I'm a mix between atheist and polytheist (don't worry, it confuses me too), I'd like to think I'm imaginitive and I never ever ever ever ever wanna grow up. :)

Anything else..?

Awww Eggy - you have my sympathy - you really do. I could not have had a first life without a second one to escape to.

I am from Norway - my real name is Vibeke - dont try to pronounce it unless you pronounce letters like scandinavians do ;)
My two cats Maia ad Tina gave me my avatar name when I first got an online life about 3 years ago.

I am 33 - ouch that hurt! - I am happily married and my son and prince turns 2 this week :D

I met Cailyn in TSO in Oct '02 and we came here together. She is my best friend - Love ya, Cai *hugs and dipkisses*

I missed this thread, since the site logs me out at the slightest provocation and it marks all the forums as read when I log back in.

Anyway...I am 25 years old and I live with my bf in Puerto Rico. He sometimes plays SL using my account, though he won't for a while due to the untimely death of his video card and because he does not like using my pc. I am pretty open about my first life (my profile even has a real pic of me) and don't have anything to hide (except the evil ninja monkeys that live in my closet :D ). I love video games (I still own my old consoles and games), anime, psychology, art, astronomy and am curious about everything. I am outspoken and highly opinionated yet extremely open-minded, sometimes not making sense when you first talk to me, but making sense in the long run (ask me about religion and you'll see ;) ).

Thats' me in a nutshell!

Actually, cream cheese and asperagus maki is a popular item at a local restaurant. You don't eat it with soy sauce or wasabi, though.

I've never had sushi :(
And I want to! It's just that in this RETARDED BACKWARDS LAME excuse for a country we have so little variety. There is probably a sushi bar somewhere out there but certainly not around my place :(
And I live right smack in the center of the capital. Imagine if I was in some backwater hillbilly town.

Heh, btw just to give you an idea, the NES arrived here in 1992!
I think the reason for this was mostly that nintendo wanted to expand its global SNES deployment, but wanted to see if it could milk some extra cash off the old NES and gameboy first.

I'm just here to voice my support for CHEEEEEEEEEEEESE!

(Sushi rocks too. But i can't see the point of sushi without wasabi. There's nothing like a wasabi rush!)

I'm here to support cheese too!!

My name is Victoria (i wasn't feeling very imaginative when choosing my SL name <g>;) and i'm 21 years old from the UK. I am currently unemployed, but missing work muchly and hope to be "well" enough to work again soon. When I do work it is with computer stuffies. I build computers for my dad's company and my last job was an IT support type person. Hmmm, what else... I'm a Piscean, I have a pet guinea pig named Jack and I love music. I think that's it for now... if you wanna know anything else then just ask!

Hi everybody!
I just cannot leave this bandwagon unjumped :D

My name is Kasi (pronounced K-C...i have a very creative mother ;) ) and I'm 25. My RL hubby plays as well, under the moniker Neil Protagonist. I am a freelance 2d/3d artist, you can check out my work at
http://www.nafii.com/kasi
and neil's work at
http://www.nafii.com/neil

I originated in Georgia (hi, home folks!!), and thats where ive spent the majority of my time. I've also resided in Jacksonville and Orlando FL, and Nashville TN. So far as locales around the Peach State, ive lived in alpharetta, marietta, gainesville, griffen (born there), waycross, and patterson (these last two are in the Brunswick/Savannah area roughly).
Currently Neil and I are living in Seattle- its a long, LONG way from home. Yes i do drawl when i speak, but only around ppl who i am certain are openminded enough to not think im an idiot because i happen to have an accent ;) (this is my pet peeve).

I have a pet computer. I kick it a lot. It's name is A**hat. :P
oh yeah, and a ninja-cat (skwert, marmalade tabby) that likes to "flip out and kill everything in sight". He is the Real Ultimate Power. ;)

My hobbies include the visual arts (all 2d media- i stink at sculpture. but oddly enough, love 3d modelling.), devouring every scrap of information i can find about aincient civilizations (the older and more mysterious, the better. on this note, Nephilaine is a bastardization of Nephilim ;) ), writing occasionally (my prose is more organized than my posts, i promise) and of course reading. Favorite authors include (but certainly not limited to): heinlien, niven, graham hancock (yah, yah, i know.), amy tan, stephen king, and jean auel. Favorite poet is TS eliot, and favorite musician is Leonard Cohen :) My favorite artist is Alphonse Mucha...
...and oh, yeah. Im also a full blown SL junkie at this point. *twitch*

Great thread hikaru, all the answers to the questions i felt wierd asking :p

Heh, talk about a small world (RL, not SL). I actually "knew" Kasi and Neil before they came to SL - I'd seen their work before (mostly because we all use the 3d animation software Lightwave, and the LW community is "close" :) ), and I'd read an article by Kasi in a 3D animation magazine. Then one day, I just happened to be talking to Neil in SL (didn't know it was the same guy) about common interests (after he'd IMed with a question), and lo and behold - it was the same Neil I knew from his web site!
What a coinkidink, eh?
Strange worlds we live in....

yeah, it was the Sasquatch article - when we met in world a little while back, I told you about it then (and that I'd also written a Sas tutorial on my web site) - Neil had me come over to your place to see it, and you were there as well.

Heh, it's always cool to see chicks doing 3D :D More and more of em are popping up...

Thats right! I recall now, sorry luv :) we need to chat IW more often :D

And i agree, theres definitely a shortage of women in the 3d fields, my pet theory is thats less because of a gap in opportunity and more a gap in interest :) but youre right, ive observed that changing rapidly as well, and its a great thing. =)

what the world needs....lots more girlygeeks!
