My name is Michael... I've recently turned 29, and am currently living in the Boston, MA area of the U.S. By day I work as a 2D/3D artist at a computer game developer. By night and on weekends I work on my own visual art, music, and creative writing. I also do some freelance illustration work on the side... and I'm hoping to make that my full-time "job" someday - as I generally don't like corporate life at all.

Interests and hobbies: art, music, roleplaying, metaphysics, esoteric stuff, underground culture, nature, and Second Life of course!

Cool idea Hikaru - I've often wondered what the real people are like behind all those crazy AVs.

As for me, much of it many of you have already seen or heard from my profile, AV, chats, etc. etc. But in case you haven't:

I'm a just-turned-today (yippee) 32 year old, person of the male persuasion, 3D artist living in the lovely Bay area, CA. I work as a god, er liaison in SL, but I also will be starting work as the primary instructor for a 3D games development program in June (see my sig. for info on that). I love and live animation (you can see my work at www.artfoundry.com - I'm the one on the right), and in particular am fond of shorts (both the animated kind and the kind you wear) and games. I also do fencing, write music (well used to - haven't in a while cuz of the crazy 3D world I'm involved in - and I'm not just referring to SL), play games (NWN, Warcraft, Halo, UT, Diablo), drink beer and Jameson Irish whiskey (on a social level, not an obsessive one), play soccer when I'm not injured, get injured when I'm playing soccer, frolick with my two cats, and laugh at my roommate when he's under the influence of ambien (no I really don't, but man, he sure gets that stoned look when he's on it, heh heh).

Oh yeah, and I like to write with a lot of parentheses.

Oh, and SL is my first experience in a virtual world/MMOG. Quite the experience...

I am 18 years old and I am heading to college soon. I currently have a summer job with the park district(pays well) and I have a parrot named Paulie. I have more graphical details but I will save it for the mature sims

I'm 33 years old and live in Sunnyvale, CA, south of San Francisco. Normally, I am a User Interface Engineer, but I am currently unemployed and looking (hey Linden Labs...hint hint!).

I have a background in 3D animation, graphics design, TV production, web design, and programming. Been in Silicon Valley since 1996.

I am married and have two cats, Artemis and Kramer.

Looks like I'm a bit late to this thread, but here goes... First of all it's cool to see a lot of people in my age range here! I'm 36, male, look just like my avatar (imaginative huh?), I'm single and share a house with a deaf turkish angora cat named Shmoo (yeah, stupid name, but he can't hear it anyway). I'm a self-employed artist and 3d animator living in Germantown, Maryland near Washington, DC. You can see my art at my gallery in Freelon, or at my homepage http://members.aol.com/surrealme. When I'm not playing SL or frantically trying to meet a deadline because I slacked and played SL instead, I like to hike, camp, do photography, read (Larry Niven rules!), drink too much shiraz and merlot, and just generally be my laid back aging hippy self. Oh, and I'm single and looking I'm having a blast meeting so many cool, talented, creative, and smart people here. Oh, and I almost forgot... I also teach courses in 3d animation at George Washington University Center for Proffesional Development.

I'm 34 years old, Male, and live in Cleveland, Ohio with my dog Holly and 2 tenants. I had a wife once but traded her for Holly and really am happy with that deal. Like the rest of my life, this went well and we are friends to this day.

I have worked for a video production company for the past 12 years as a Interactive Developer / Digital Janitor. In a small company you wear alot of hats but I love my job and wouldn't trade it for anything.

I was raised by June and Ward Cleaver, my parents and family are the non-standard, well adjusted, nuclear family. I have 2 sisters, 36 and 20.

I am pleased with my existance to date.

I'm a 26 year old male living in Payson (think small town) Utah. I have two jobs, my day job is a developer/system admin/network engineer for a small startup company that I have a lot of hopes for. My job at night is working for a incorporated personal care products company as IT Help Desk. MY family has 2 dogs, 6 cats, a bird, some fish, and snake. Out of that I own, take care of, mainly one of the cats (unimaginatively named Kitty - yes I named her and I was a dope when I was a kid we can move on now) and the snake (a ball python named Semour). I like computers and reading and usually will have an interest of the moment (right now it's..well right now there isn't an interest of the moment because I'm playing SL instead ). Off and on going to college with an interest in getting my bachelors in computer science.

I'm a 36 year old kid. I have a hubby, a dog, and a cat. Born and raised in San Diego, CA. Believe it or not a true native. Work for HP and love it but it's only temporary. Job market is tight down here (dang economy) so I took the first thing that came along. Hopefully they'll find something something else for me to do there when this assignment is over. I used do things after work bsl but this game has me totally hooked now so I spend all my free time in front of the computer.

Well that's about all there is to tell. Not too exciting but it's the life I have.

Hello everyone, Im new!

My name is Jason, Im 28, I have a wife and 2 children, 1 cat, and I live in Connecticut. Im currently working for Intel as a Manufacturing Technician, but Im working toward a degree in Electrical Engineering. Other than my nightlife of Internet addiction, I create video games and character sprites for Audio Dragon and try to play a few games when I can squeeze them in.

I got Hikaru from the anime Anglelic Layer. It means red dragon. Originally i wanted to be Sakura, but by email never got a reply back.

I'm an 18-year-old student born in California, living in New Jersey, going to school for a dual architecture/math degree. Other than school, I work summers at a supermarket in my home town. In my spare time, I play a few different musical instruments, dabble in linguistics, draw a little, play roleplaying games and fighting video games, and hang out on a couple different Internet forums.

Hey there I am about to turn 40 yuck. My partner and I live in Tucson. I work in the devices section of a large ISP. Can't say the name, but yep it's the big one. My partner is a web designer. We have 2 dogs Taz and Tizzy. They are Jack Russels (satan spawn). I moved to the Left Coast from Texas when I was 15.
