[creeps out of woodwork]
<-- 21, feels old about it. My name is Anthony, most call me Tony. I work in IT doing odd jobs, phone support (Avaya Definity), programming, server administration, and other PC support. I reside in Memphis, TN. I have some cats that are as prudent as they are spiteful. My only driving goal in life seems to be my 1987 Toyota MR2, which isn't as depressing as it sounds.
Btw, carry a spare car key in your wallet, rarely do you lose your wallet.

My Turn!
08-08-2003 09:28
I've Lived in Los Angeles near Santa Monica for the past eight years...This weekend I move to Sacramento where I am opening up a dinner theater. I'm 25, Brown hair, tatoos, green eyes...good sense of humor and am the child of three cops. (Yes three, Gotta count my step mother too) My step mother is Black, as are my two younger sister's, who I was raised with, So I am like a slightly twisted version of "The Jerk".
I love my SL...It's the only game I play, and I'M NOT GOING ANYWHERE!
VIVA LA RESISTANCE!

Well, I might as well go ahead and tell everyone about myself.
I'm BOB, here and there, I am 42, I work as a Network Admin in the Kansas City, MO area. I grew up in this area, spent 2 years as a police office in a small town when I was first out of college, discovered that was NOT what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I went to DeVry for computer training, but never graduated, since I got a job in the industry and from there on, I've been working with computers/networks ever since. I'm single, never married, and spent the last 15 years volunteering my time as a Young Life leader. Unfortunately though, I injured my back and since then have had to stop my outside activities as I know live in constant agonizing pain. Although I am going to see a new Pain Doctor new wed., so I've got some hopes about that.

Oh I might as well also.
I'm 29. Born & raised in Watsonville, CA. Went to school at Cal Poly SLO in Computer Science. I've been in LA for about 4 years now doing mostly consulting/programming with a friend of mine. I play city league softball when I'm not playing SL and I have 1 fish, 1 plant, and 1 bong.

Wow...what a long thread! I've not seen any UK'ers in this thread yet, so I feel safe sharing this info as none of you will ever meet me in RL har har I'm Chris, male, and my ageing-hippy body is 34 but my brain has yet to fully catch up. I'm a 3D artist living in Harrogate, UK. I design and project manage computer games for a living...usually Java games for websites such as MSN, Real, etc. In fact, I've never had a 'real' job as my parents used to put it... I sold 3 computergames before I left school at 18 and never looked back I teach project management and 3dsMAX at the local college now and then, play drums in a rock band called 'Clint', and all the usual stuff like read books (someone mention Larry Niven?), go for walks, go to parties, have some drinks, watch some films, etc. I'm a bit of an armchair scientist, madly into physics as well as metaphysics and penomenon of a spiritual nature. No religious persuasion tho. I have adapted my body over the last month to get through the day on less sleep now that SL has become one of my favorite pastimes. Great to meet you all... lets keep this thread growing!

From: someone Originally posted by Carrera LeFay I'm guessing Georgia! It's gotta be! Born in Georgia, lived most of my life here, except for the time I spent in the U.S. Army (California, Arizona, Germany, and Texas) Back in GA now (and very happy about that fact) I'm currently a corporate software developer. Was a software consultant until the firm I worked for closed their Atlanta office during the IT bust, but one of my former clients hired me shortly afterwards (that's where I am now.) Was a network administrator before I switched to development. When I was in the Army, computers were my hobby. When I was a network admin, programming was my hobby. Now that I'm a programmer, I don't really have a hobby, anymore. :-/ I guess SL is really my main hobby these days. P.S. I would have guessed South Dakota, myself.

Maggie, north of Atlanta LOL I'm in Norcross. Had I realized this a couple of days ago, I probably would have offered to help you troubleshoot your connection problems over the phone.

My turn!
08-09-2003 21:56
Okay let's see I'm 22, I live in Northern California, smack dab in between San Francisco and Sacramento. I grew up all over the Pacific, mainly in Japan, California, Hawaii and the Philippines (I was an air force brat). At the moment I work at a car dealership, admin not sales I have a cat that doesn't live with me (he lives in Berkeley), and a bunch of fish in a tank (plus fry now). I don't really have hobbies, um besides breaking things and putting them back together- others will argue that i don't really do the putting back together part real well. I talk alot too, outside of the game really I'm a lil quiet in game but I talk alot yes i do

I'm nineteen, a sophomore in college in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Major: Undecided. Minor: Spanish. I love dancing to a fault...I can swing, lindyhop, softshoe, jazz, "shake my bootay", and I'm about to learn ballet. Vegetarian for my health. Atheist. Brownish/blondish hair, green eyes, yada yada. Favorite authors include H.P. Lovecraft, Ayn Rand, Anton Chekhov, Richard Adams, and Jacqueline Carey. People tell me I read too much, but sometimes I wonder if one can ever read enough.

I'm Shawn and I live (born, raised) in the Portland area, out here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I am an independent QA contractor for...umm...major chip/motherboard manufacturers in the area. No name-dropping here! I'm 31, but I can seem like I'm anywhere between 18 and 60. I'm also single (again). Hobbies include playing music (I originally went to school to be a music teacher), reading everything in sight, caring for/protecting/aiding the cause of animals of all kinds, fitness & weight training, playing with 3D graphics and worlds, and dozens of other things on whim. I skip around because I love too many things. Everything is interesting and wonderful. Life is to be loved. I am generally a happy person, but don't let that fool you - I have a wicked cynical and sarcastic temper about me. Life has been both really bad and really good to me, perhaps more extremely so for me than for the average person, so I've managed to find a nice balance, all on my own. That's how it works, you know? You make something out of nothing. You put your boots on and strap your wits about you. Try to love it all the while. I am a very nice and courteous man until/unless provoked or I've spotted some kind of injustice. I then become a hard, raging asshole with no room for mercy. When I fight for a cause, I fight like Roy Cohn. Vicious. Rutheless. Look out. That's enough of my shameless self-inflating - thanks for almost reading! -J

Hi. In SL I'm a benevolent demi-god with supernatural powers, but in RL I'm a thirtysomthing physicist-turned-programmer working for a small software firm in San Francisco. My hobbies currently include installing GNU/LInux, making furniture out of 2x4's, growing native California plants, trying to keep the racoons out of my backyard compost pile, and collecting a multitude of things that need to be fixed.

somehow I missed this . . .

thread. So I'm going to help drudge it up from obscurity . I'm 29 (will be 30 in November). Right now I'm adjunct faculty at a small university in Russellville, Arkansas. I teach English and Writing. I am, for those of you who remember your undergrad days, the crazy woman who taught your Intro to Composition class and carried her office around in a backpack. I live about ten miles north Russellville in Dover -- population 1,300 . I've also lived in Kansas -- where I did part of my undergrad and my master's degree and Colorado, where I worked on my MFA in Fiction Writing. I'm still finishing the MFA, this is my thesis year! But I'm doing it away from CO, which makes me very happy (I had this idea that Colorado was still like it was 20 years ago, silly me! But nooooo the entire front range is like one big suburb of Denver, *sigh*). I'm married for just under a year to a great guy who is obessed with billiards and trying to play SL but having very little luck because he's kinda clueless when it comes to gaming -- and he travels way too much . I have two dogs and two cats, parents who are very young, a large, active family who is thrilled I finally moved home and no children but we're working on that . Zana
