btw - I continue to get IMs from people happy about my free vendor scripts. Siggy is 100% correct in saying that many of the talented people don't care about profits. My sale products pay for new computer parts and land fees, but really that's just to support my ability to create more stuffs.

The assumption that the established creative people in SL are in an uproar over the value of the L$ is just plain silly. Many of the most prolific designers, builders, etc.. existed before GOM, and many do not trade their money out of SL. I periodically trade money out in limited amounts and reinvest it in SL by paying for hosting fees, software, etc. for SL related projects. I have never ever counted on it as income, or to cover my land tier, which I can afford perfectly fine. The only people who are freaking out are those who have a vested interest in profitting off of SL as much as they possibly can.
I assure you that SL will go on perfectly fine, no matter the gloom and doom predictions and the laughable rhetoric. Those who don't actually create anything in SL but just look for ways to profit cannot possibly imagine creating something just for the pleasure of creating it, but news flash, the profiteers are the exception, and it is amusing to watch them freaking out lol.
