We can each ask each other the same question all day. I think it matters because it is unnecessary, unethical, immoral, not scientificly sound, and disgusting.

The very same argument could be made for banning early abortions too. In fact that argument has been used to uphold sodomy laws, immigration restrictions, civil rights laws and anything somebody disliked. The reason rational people should uphold legal abortion is because the government is lousy at making decisions for individuals. I'd rather have the woman and her doctor making medical decisions than some politician.

And I personally believe that any abortion that isn't necessary to preserve the health or life of the mother is immoral. I also believe that it would be immoral for a woman to not have an abortion when her health and life are at risk. But it would be insane to have the government involved in determining the medical aspects of the situation.

Just look at the messes made by politicians who are pro-life. Iraq, Katrina, drug coverage for seniors. If the pro-life politicians are this bad at running the rest of the world, why on earth would anyone want them involved in intimate medical decisions?
