Must Bush look so smug when taking away our civil liberties?

From: Kendra Bancroft You watch Fox too much. There is far more to the Democratic Platform than "I hate Bush".
Try visiting some Democratic websites and doing some reading --or would that interfere too much with your programming.
The question is not only relevant, Billy --it is absolutely paramount --the question is at the very heart of why a reasonably intelligent, young man as yourself would allow fascists to take over his political party in order to serve it's Corporate Masters.
How long will you support those that don't have your best interests at heart, Billy?
This isn't about hate, Billy --It's about getting the country back into the hands of it's people. Last I checked... "the people" elected President Bush. Fascists... Corporate Masters... Don't have my interests at heart... good Kendra... very good... "Thank you"!!!

From: Kendra Bancroft But in actuality this has not been true. Rather the corporate media has pushed this idea in order to trivialize and thereby silence the opposition party.
That's the true version.
Luckily, typical fascist greed and clumsy management (Fascists know how to "win" they seldom know how to govern) are beginning to wake the people of the USA from their deep slumber.
2006 is going to be very bad for Republicans that have hitched there wagons to Bush. corporate media... LAFS... even better... thats right... everyone KNOWS how conservative the media is and how much they love Bush... An enthusiastic "thank you" on that one. Sure didn't see that one coming.

From: Billy Grace All I said was that as long as it is the Dem/Liberal mantra it will put a Republican in office. Doesn't this assume that everyone that hates Bush (or even everyone who dislikes him on this thread) cares if the next person in office is Republican or Democrat? I'd imagine that at this point many "Bush Haters" would be happy with anyone who isn't Bush (regardless of party affiliation) as long as it's some improvement. The really die-hard likely don't even care about the improvement factor. But I don't see anyone here like that.

But I don't see anyone here like that. Absolutely -- I'd be just as happy if an actual Republican was President . Republicans are at the very least still interested in serving the interests of the people. George W. Bush is NOT a Republican.

From: Billy Grace For 6 years plus the Gor/Bush election it has been all about how much the Dems/Libs hate Bush, not about actual issues. As long as that continues no democrat will be electable. But, but....it is NEVER about the actual issues. From: Billy Grace Oh, and unpartiotic... yes, "Thank you" once again Gabe! This comment...well, I don't have a clue why you insist on thanking me. I am neither agreeing with you nor explicitly crapping on your shoes. If anyone bothered to read anything I ever wrote, they could infer that I am pretty conservative politically, though I make a point to note the failings of the entire system as it functions today, which is almost never in the interest of the average person, but rather a perpetual power machine working on the sweat of the people for the good of the very few. The niggling comments that you continue to make are the types of things that obscure the real issues.

From: Billy Grace Oh crap Todd... with talk like a Democrat might just have a chance. Get with the program dude! All at once now... We hate Bush... We hate Bush... We hate Bush... We hate Bush... NOt saying I like Bush. But making fun of him is like making fun of a retard. He is definitely one of the more "goofball" presidents tho. Being $100k in student loan debt, under-employed (2 days at a restaurant) kinda makes you not like goverment too much. NOW--- where's the nearest bell tower???

So...did anyone even listen to Alberto Gonzales, or did everyone pre-judge everything he had to say (like the ones with the sign obviously did) and plug their ears up? I mean, shit! I know I didn't have to listen to what he had to say, I already heard what the Democrats had to say about it and they're completely trustworthy!http://www.usdoj.gov/ag/speeches/2006/ag_speech_0601242.html

I heard his comments. They were nothing new. According to the NYT article that broke the story, the NSA has been monitoring as many as 500 people at a time. That means thousands of people have had their calls monitored. Gonzales justifies the spying with the same BS line about only monitoring people that are being called by known Al Qaeda operatives or those tied to Al Qaeda. From: someone This program, described by the President, is focused on international communications where experienced intelligence experts have reason to believe that at least one party to the communication is a member or agent of al Qaeda or a terrorist organization affiliated with al Qaeda. Soooo... Al Qaeda is calling thousands of people in the US. Riiiiiigggghhhhtttt... and I'm Mary, Queen of Scots. Pleased to meet you.

Umm, Billy, you do know the Constitution doesn't allow George to run again, don't you? At least that's what it says now, before Alberto Gonzales does a reinterpretation. So if George can't run again, just how would hating him help elect a Republican?
I think the general incompetence, the corruption, the war, escalating energy prices and the weak economy will play much greater roles than "Elect me, they hate Bush!" A few more years of the corruption scandal playing out in Washington will, hopefully, drive the wing-nuts out and bring back a little rationalism.
I love watching family-values nazis going to jail for bribery. It warms my little heart.
