Seriously, my son's girlfriend voted for Bush and I am trying not to hold that against her as she is still quite young and from Texas. Education is possible. If she is crazy about my pagan, left-leaning, book reading son, then she can't be all stupid. _____________________

Why because we are gluttonous lazy bastards who say it won't happen to me so who cares. --Ishtar Pasteur |

I VOTED for Bush! I did because we were screwed either way. Kerry or Bush! Couldn't we get another choice. But Kerry is more sneeky and is another Clinton, meanng his wife would have ran the White House! Therefore, I voted for Bush!

Don't Give up on the vision of our founding fathers
12-13-2005 09:54
Since I know you all care, I think that party affiliation in this country is as meaningful a distinction as shoe size. The founders of the federal government and the constitution set up the system with two parties in mind. Granted, those two parties have changed over the years, but there have always been two major political parties to choose from, with several other contenders waiting in the wings to grab power. There ARE major differences between our two parties today just to name a few: Republican (Conservative)/Democrat (Liberal) Pro-Life/Pro-Choice Anti-Birth Control/Pro-Birth Control Anti-Welfare/Pro-Welfare Anti-Progressive Taxation/Pro-Progressive Taxation Anti-Secular/Pro-Secular Anti-Affirmative Action/Pro-Affirmative Action Pro-War/Anti-War Pro-Big Business/Pro-Workers Rights Anti-Union/Pro-Union Tough on Poor Ciminals/Tough on Rich Criminals Anti-Drug (Unless it's taxable)/Pro-Choice (of drug) Pro-Death Penalty/Anti-Death Penalty Anti-Right to Die/Pro-Right to Die Pro-Development/Pro-Environment Republicans say democrats are socialists and cummunist, democrats say republicans are elitist and fascist... Both are right, or will be right as the extreme's of either party would be bad for the people of America and the rest of the world. Now if you don't understand the differences between the party platforms on these issues, then you shouldn't be voting until you do. If you do understand the differences, then vote your conscience, but for god's sake, vote. I don't always tow the party line on every issue, but I go with the party that I agree with MOST OF THE TIME. The reason we end up with candidates like Bush and Kerry is because 90% of the people that vote don't get involved in the discussion or the process until it's too late. The presidential primary process is infinitely more important than the actual election in November. To give my two cents on the broader question posed in this thread, we are picking the lesser of to evils most of the time because the cream doesn't rise to the top in politics, money does. Follow the money trail and it stops at the doors of your past and future political leaders, while real leaders like Wesley Clark and Colin Powell get shunned by their own parties. Take a stance and pick a party, then go about finding your party's best and brightest and support them with your time, money if you can, but most importantly your vote. Don't wait until you have only two choices and then complain that both suck. That's it... |

Do you think, given the general anti-Bush flavor of these forums, that anyone would admit to voting for Bush? I admitt that John Kerry would be President now, if Governor Taft hadn't committed voter fraud in Ohio by supplying only 1 voting machine for every 10000 Democrats and 100 voting machines for every 1 repubnik. |

yes I voted for Bush and don't regret it. That's because I am informed unlike most Bush bashers. I have voted Democratic in the past. I try to choose the best person for the job, dem or rep. But what I also do is try to watch and read more than one network or newspaper to form my own opinion. I don't take the word of one network or other form of media or listen to someone and ape their opinion cause I'm too lazy to form my own. People need to look into the real facts before bashing. I think half the people complaing have never read a paper, or are too busy watching reruns of some sitcom to watch the news and think they are supporting whats most popular. Oh well, just my opinion...you asked for it ![]() You did know that George the Second started the Iraqi war just so he could get elected President in 2004 right??? |

Nope George the Second pushed him to second most currupt. When he actually gets indicted, resigns and gets pardoned by President Dick Cheney you can say that. |

Damn, Tricky Dick is going to rise out of his grave and come a calling on you. NO ONE puts Nixon in second place! Now, I'm not saying Nixon is evil, but he usually is a the top of many folks lists, and well, Nixon seemed to be the type to make that a point of pride. |

I call it like it is, George the Second is the most evil, most criminal, and most currupt "President" In the history of the United States lmao.. Magnum. We have a word for you, it's called forum troll. News flash Mary, noone gives a rats ass what you THINK, because its all open to interpretation. Opinions are like assholes, we all have them, and they all stink. I will agree with you. Bush isn't an ideal President, but WHO THE FUK is? Everyone has their flaws. Even YOU Sir Lancellot. Bush has his flaws, and Kerry has his. What about your beloved Edwards who openly insulted the ENTIRE gay and lesbian community on national TV. That did WONDERS for your campaign didn't it? Point is, youre an egotistical, narrow minded foolish forum troll. You vote down the party lines like my mom... the difference between you two is that I love her. Try opening your eyes Ray Charles and choose the best man (or woman) or hell, the lesser of two evils for the job. If you vote party lines, YOU LOSE. Thank you. This message has been supported by truth and bluntness. _____________________

Well you have to consider that this nation did not have a president from January 20 2001 to January 20 2005. And the things that happened to this nation clearly showed that we had No president between those two dates. |

You haven't really done much to keep the discussion on a higher level yourself... just an observation, nothing personal... |

Also, the thread was titled "Did anyone here vote for Bush?". It wasn't "Come in and bash Bush.". Anyway, your opinion, I'll still sleep well tonight. _____________________
