And yes it is humorous-in that dark way that we know is wrong, so very wrong, and yet we laugh anyway. Much of what has been joked about in the course of this thread: Cheney could be a vampire; here's what was on a night-time talk show; Cheney needs to learn the difference between people and quail; Cheney didn't have a permit for quail or old men; lead poisoning. Seriously, though, no one is making fun of the poor guy who got shot. More people are making fun of the Vice President because, well, he's an easy target.

What the fuck kind of a world do we live in? And Cheney was not the target. He was the guy with the gun who shot the very old man directly in the face and heart, unprovoked.

From: Billy Grace I hate to bring some common sense into this thread but I have hunted lots of quail in my days. Every experienced hunter knows that when you have a big quail hunt everyone spreads out and walks in a straight line to flush out the birds.
If someone takes a leak and walks in front of the line when he returns, his dumb ass is going to get shot pretty much every time if a covey is flushed and fly in his direction. The automatic assumption that Cheney did anything wrong is most likely an uninformed one from non-hunters. Really, I was taught the first rule of hunting was knowing what you were pointing the gun at before you pulled the trigger. |
