invisible avatar

While I would normally agree about this Zi, I have even tried that too. Nothing seems to be helping me at the moment. Oh, and as for the world being grey, it isn't for me, just takes a while (like a few minutes, depending on how much there is to rez, and the number of scripts in the locale) to fully load, everytihng but the ava. People can still see me too, except if I sit on the ground and they leave then come back, I have to stand for them to see me, still to myself I am still invisible.

I am getting that same message at every login, but after a few minutes my av rezzes in.
I have cleared cache, changed group titles several times, logged in and out many times, tp'd, but still get that message every time I login, and am invisible for a few minutes.

Also as I mentioned in another post, I am finding none of my friends list shows up as being online, even though on the website I can clearly see that they are. Opening their calling card in my inventory shows them as offline as well. Strangely though, if they login after I have they show up as normal.


My son also plays SL, but on the teengrid, and is having none of these issues. In fact he has noticed drastic improvements there. So it has to be an account specific issue??

Ok, I've had dinner and logged back in and my ava is now fully visible Praise the powers that be.
I have TPed, logged out and back in to test it, and I still show up, so whatever has been tweaked, thankyou Muah!!

Now that I've said it only happened once to me, it actually happened right now again (with that message)
But after a while I showed up (while I was typing this actually).

Logged out, gave it half an hour, logged back in, and I am invisible again, all but the prims, but at least now I am appearing after about 10 minutes :/ Got the downloading clothing msg again. Too tired to keep trying tonight, so logging out. Will try again in the morning and let you know the outcome. Good luck.

Same here, I get the "clothing still downloading, all will be fine" msg, then it takes 1-2mins to actually load the clothing. Took even longer for my alt, which I left unattended and who was still invisible after 5mins, and then I logged it out. I bugreported that (#226709).

yes i am getting that message when i log in but it sometimes it takes up to an hour for my clothes to appear!!!! thats a very long time to wait and sometimes the worl will appear gray for about 10min but this is not bothering me as much as my av

Yes I do see:

Your clothing is still downloading.
You can use the world normally, and other users
will see your correctly.

But by the time I see that, ppl see my name log off, and all I see is that space, and I can see that I'm at my home spot. My visitor tracker sends me a email saying I'm there.

out of curiousity, do all of you who are having problems with invisibility still have total access to inventory, and show a money balance? at your home location as well as other locations? I was having these issues as well as the invisibility, before I was 'fixed'.

Till now they inventory and money balance seem normal, just before i could not login because it said i was already online, duh, i logged in with my alt, oh boy that was really a mess, total invisible, could not even see my name, and my camera was going nuts.

Ok update, I still can't see my avie only attachments, or move, still see open space, no money..but now I see three grey items and I can tell it's pieces of my furniture.

yes my inventory works and my money shows up fine but like earlier today i logged on an and had my prefences set to "home" and when i loged on i was at the sim my home is set to but i was at 10,10,10 instead of like where my home is! i dont know what that was about later when i logged on i was fine exceptfor my AV still wont show

I wanted to let you all know this is important to us to fix. It's not known yet exactly what causes, but it is being worked on to be addressed. Thankyou for all the info you've provided, and please, if you haven't yet, send a bug report inworld from the HELP menu ---> REPORT BUG so we have a formal record too of who is affected.

I will of course be here to post new news on any developments--and hope you can see yourselves again!

Well, it is morning here for me now, just logged in to see if the invisibility issue has been solved yet, and I am visible, I did not get the msg still downloading clothes, and everything else around me has rezzed in little to no time Very happy!! As long as I stay that way, today will be a good day. I must say I did not experience the messed up inventory and account balance that others have, and everything seems normal Good luck to everyone else.

I am having the same problem, as well as everyone I know, I have never had this issue with an update before. My av is attachments only for sometimes up to 30 minutes. Relogging or going to a different sim just restarts the av rezzing game. When i finally do rez, I am in ruth form for about 5-10 more minutes until I finally am me again. As far as everyone else seeing me correctly as the message states, that is untrue. They see me as I see me. In the past when there have been issues, I play the switching groups game and that will help, in this case I can't find myself to click on to change groups, unless there is another way to change groups I am not aware of.

It is pretty annoying and needs fixed please!

Yea, when I was having probs live help suggested trying to adjust my appearance etc.. only problem was.. the appearance and all those options were greyed out in the menu and not useable! crazy stuff.. sorry to hear people are still having problems with this.

Still getting the clothing download message every login, then it takes between 5 and 10 minutes for me to show up.

Also my friends online never shows still. Unless I look on the website for who is on, it looks like no one is.

Another thing I noticed today (because now I am really looking at exactly what is happening) is when I do rez in, all my clothing, and my skin are just blurs, and I have to take everything off, and reput on again to make it normal, or wait another 20 minutes or more for it to fully rez.

When I go into my inventory, doing the take off/put on thing, after log in, there is a line above the File, Create, Sort line that says downloading Inventory...or something like that, and then has a number next to it, which is the current number of items downloaded........this number keeps counting (rising) for a considerable amount of time (maybe 15 minutes?), before it stops, and then the line says Downloaded x number of items. And my inventory is still well under 10,000 items, including calling cards, lm's, etc. So I have no idea why it takes so long to download.

Just wonder if the slow loading inventory has anything to do with why friends don't show up as online, and why I am invisible on login.

When i was having invisibility problems for a several hours after the upgrade, My inventory would do the slow counting thing when i went into a new region.. besides my home region.... if i went back into my home region it wouldnt even count inventory at all.. it would dissapear.. this is ONLY after I got my avatar to start appearing again by changing my home region. I am adding this info for tech's .. every bit of info helps I am sure. It sounds like it has to do with the new way regions communicate with each other and yourself. there is a bug that is causing some people problems.

...just change your group (then back again if you like). It seems to force the reload of AV data. For me it worked fine, all the times I've becomed invisible.

WOOOT This girl is back in the game. I uninstalled and reinstalled my AcAfee Firewall, and wooot it got me back in the game.

I also get the 'your clothing is still downloading message'. Other users can't see me however. The changing groups thing worked for me once, but today its been over half an hour, and a tp, several group changes later I'm still invisible. It's really getting me down, and I'm afraid I'm becoming disillusioned with SL, every update seems to bring new problems (and I'm very kindly disposed to LL), to the point where I only log on to see my girl, and now she can't see me .
I should add I'm an OSX 3.9 user.

edit: also, I now see the 'spinning beach ball' continuously, it's thinking about something.

Hey Guys

Whatever you do, DO NOT try and change outfits while this is happening. I have borked a very expensive outfit this way, unknowingly. Now even if i can stay in there long enough to change clothes successfully, that particualr out fit gives the error;

" This wont load please contact the vendor you bought it from"

I have had this outfit(its a favorite) for a few weeks so it was working just fine..now its borked.
