Bran,

If I were anywhere near you, I would slap you and tell you how your approach was awful and made me want to throw up what I ate an hour ago. I have no idea where in your mind you think that insulting the Lindens and their efforts to service us is completely off. I can tell you right now that if you continue this childish approach, nobody will help you. Please, by all means, continue to sit there at your computer typing your disapproval of the Lindens and their efforts to improve the world. I hope they don't fix it simply due to your complaints. I know I wouldn't.

Sorry, but I do not see Philip giving a damn. As for insulting the Lindens, I am insulting Philip in particular, none other. He has no problem insulting me by retaining well known and reported bugs. As for you tossing your lunch, please direct it toward Philip. ;-)

In the real world, not SL, bug reports are responded to, numbered and fixes reported to the submiter. As far as anyone can tell SL bug reports are mass deleted, probably by the email deamon.

That's your bug!? you didn't even pick one that causes a problem!
That is _a_ bug. Check the building forum if you don't know any.

If you asked where his bug was, I think I could answer that :)

Siggy.

I have a bug extractor....if you can get him in a headlock I might be able pull the bug out in a few hours....tight asses always take longer. :p

Everything I have requested to be fixed and/or added has been. EVERYTHING. I imagine if you cut the bull and appreciate the work the lindens do to accomidate you and the rest of the lindens, you might actually get somewhere. Remember, you can very easily sit on your ass in front of your computer and complain, but what good does that do?

You can tell me that I'm wrong about what I know of my history with Linden Labs when you've been here for as long as I have.

Gotta side with monkey boy on this one.... Every bug report I've put in has been replied to within 48 hours - every bug I bug reported was fixed within 2 updates..

I'd say if it's on the list - who knows what the priority is on that list though -- maybe if you asked (civilly -- I won't even suggest politely) they might let you know.

*shrug*

I'd like to say 'you catch more flies with honey' but I proved my mother wrong on that saying by showing her what a lump of fresh dogshit could do :)

Siggy.

lol no that's not a bug, that's just your rotation getting converted to quaternions and then back into degrees for display and since you can represent rotations in degrees multiple ways it shows up slightly differently. It effects nothing, deal with it. the real bug with rotations is when they slip 0.02 or so. And yes I already know the bugs. just seeing if you actually had a clue.

Can I report my bugs to you? I haven't even gotten a "yeah we're looking into this bug" reply for a while.

From you and monkey boy I get the impression that bug reports from certain SLers are fixed but for most of us they are trashed.

Yes, I have politely reported bugs. I have _never_ received _any_ reply or had them fixed. I basically gave up SL except on rare occasions because of the building bugs, would drop it completely if it weren't for my better half wanting to continue.

We pay a fee to play, LL is not doing us a favor, we are the customer--it seems that many SLers have that concept reversed. For my over $1000+/year I do not feel that it is asking to much for a reply to my bug reports, just a little dialog, just a small indication that Philip gives a shit. I pay less for my web hosting and get service, emails answered, professionalism. Since I get none of this from Philip's SL I have gotten rather past being civil--sorry.

I wouldn't judge the priorities of Linden Labs without first understanding what they go through. In the last few weeks, they've had a string of bad luck with the Second Life servers. They've been faced with a tough descision in the last two months on whether or not to fix Second Life to the point that it is usable or answer every single bug report they recieve. If you and everyone else in Second Life sent a bug report, do they have the capacity to handle those many requests? No. Before you judge them, please consider the fact that they've came in during the holidays to fix bugs and errors and are usually working late into the night so you can enjoy Second Life.

Bran, you obviously take what you have for granted.

Why do you keep referring to Philip specifically? Do you think he's got nothing better to do than to personally respond to every bit of correspondence? If you think that paying your paltry 1,000 dollars per year entitles you to make the CEO of LL your bitch, I think you might be in for a surprise.

I'm sorry but LL bad design of their system is not my problem. My problem is paying LL every month, their problem is making it work..

From: Derek Jones
or answer every single bug report they recieve. If you and everyone else in Second Life sent a bug report, do they have the capacity to handle those many requests?
So, for my $1000+/year it would be to much to expect that they would answer several? And if they fixed the bugs there would be fewer bug reports. It really is a mind-set. Several years ago where I worked the developers had to respond to service problems 24/7. This meant that on average there were two calls per week between midnight and 6AM. After a few weeks I got tired of these calls, found the problems and fixed them. Not I can only wonder why none of the other half dozen developers had not fixed them, had put up with them for over a year.

I have worked every holiday you can name, not big deal there. For years I was in the commercial broadcast field, 24/7 service, been there, done that. Prepared for failures, handled them as they came along. Did I expect the listeners to thank me? No, it was my job

From: Derek Jones
Bran, you obviously take what you have for granted.
No, I pay $100+/month, that is my part of the bargain.

Because he is the only person I know that has the power to make a decision to fix bugs.

He nor anyone at LL has ever responded to any correspondence. I should expect for Philip to be concerned about the level of service LL supplies to it's users.

Wrong, it's Philip--for taking our money, using our builds to sell SL and refusing to fix the building bugs.
