If you were handed an Island and 'all' you had to pay was the $195 per month, what would you do with it?

If I had an island no fees.. I'd have a mini town.. I'd have a shopping area, and a newbie help area, and a fun stuff area.. And I'd have my own governers mansion ![]() _____________________

I'd find a way to charge someone else. Your humble cheapskate, David. Now, that in a way is part of the game ... how would you go about it? The easiest way is to simply sell it as Zapoteth suggested. L |

When I get an island going to finally buld my house, I might have to buy a second island for the garden but I guess I'll have to make do with a smaller house for now - though 64000 sq meters of floor space is a bit constraining I'll bite the bullet and inltially make a 1536 m garden - so when do I get the deed?

That would be a massive house ... do you have a floorplan already or are you just planning on building till all the ground is covered? What kinda house do you have in mind? Styles, materials, period etc. L |

I imagine my sim would be dynamic. The terrain would constantly evolve and the items on that terrain would be forever changing. So basically, it'd be a different sim everytime you entered. Err, a bit like the Cordova sandbox, but with far less cubism.
Please note: This idea has been copyrighted by my imaginary lawyers. Also, anybody seen making a sim like my imaginary sim will force me to call them horrible names for several days. I will also imagine beating them to death with an imaginary fish. So just imagine. |

A huge empty sim???? *gasp* *wheeze* panic attack!!!
![]() Ahhh now it feels like home. --- Ok, seriously mountain in the center with a permanent dwelling on top. Valley all around with a corner for a group sandbox and a corner with a stage for events. The remainder of the sim (should be almost half) would be a place for artisans to display their works. I'd keep as much out as possible and then start rotating their displays when it got full. I have no business acumen, so I doubt I'd make any money with this sim, but it'd be fun for me to enjoy and give people who build for the joy of it a chance to be recognized. However if I thought I could cover for my tier with it, I might try to squeeze in a market of some kind, although it'd have to be low lag and unobtrusive. As much as I'd like to be philanthropic, realistically the $195 every month is a lot for me to swallow. _____________________

If you were handed an Island and 'all' you had to pay was the $195 per month, what would you do with it? Assuming I had $195 - or it was free, and I had the skills to do so....... I'd divide it into four... I'd have one commercial area, one residential area, a theme park with games, and a forest/lake area. The forest/lake and theme park would be all mine, and I'd have building rules in the commercial and residential areas, so there'd be no building over a certain height, and no hideous purple casinos. It would have a road network and railway around it too. Failing that, a huge space station kinda thing with a 'Laserquest' game in it. Lewis _____________________

Lewis This looks like a very typical setup ... i.e. the various zones? Also a pretty good scattergun approach to maybe getting some income ... covering all the bases don't you think? Would you make it a no fly sim then? Otherwise, why bother with the roads/railways ... or that because you like them? L |

Would you theme the displays or would you have it as a free for all? I can't see how you could do this without some sort of market (if you wanted to cover the 195). L |

Hmmm... mountainous area in the center with an old abandoned cathedral on top, surrounded by mysterious spooky forest... that'd be a starting place, anyway. Probably ruins scattered here and there, and whatever else I felt like building on any given day.

I'd rig the entire sim to reconfigure from a club, to an office park, to an evil lair, ot a giant space ship, to.... whatever.... at the flick of aswitch.
Knowing me, it would be a really big switch. A.... GOD SWITCH, if you will. |

I like the newbie help area idea (being pretty new myself) What would you think include fun stuff? Leon Hehe.. I'd try to find some non-gambling games, and see if I could hire someone to make some fairground games.. _____________________
