rule of thumb, if your sig is longer than your post, either you didn't need to post, or you need to edit your sig.

What I found humourous about that is that your post took up the exact same amount of space as the one you were chastising. At least the previous poster gave us something to read instead of blank space. ;)

Edit: Oh man, could I have possibly replied to an OLDER post than that??

I think I have something to say about this...

Ah! Here is it!

"Well...it's nice exploring, but there is not enough to keep me entertained if I had to pay RL money to hang out here."

I'd like you to sit down and count up the number of hours you spend in SL per month (roughly). Then imagine you DID have to pay to use it (say, the premium fee of $10 a month).

Then I'd like you to divide the $10 cost by the number of hours you spend in the game. Take that cost-per-hour figure and compare it to the cost of other forms of entertainment.

$10 gets you, what? A movie and some popcorn?
$10 gets you...part of the way towards affording an average computer game?
$10 gets you a hooker for five minutes? :P

However you look at it, SL is pretty good value for money even if you pay for it.

Reviving threads ftw. ^_^

Why are some sims capped at 40 people max, and others at 100?

Because they paid LL for the upgrade.

They are not capped. The quility of the server and or the age reflects the ability to hold more then 40. I had experience where i was in a old beta that was retrofitted (meaning they helded no more then 6 in their bets server state)server holding over 40 peole in a sim. It was not pretty but the server held. We had a hech of a lag issue problem and we had a number od strange problems. But this was all done a retro fitted beta server that was update current strandards. But going back to 100 in a sim. The PR hype to this issue not new where its been done back in the begaining of the year with a older client and older server specs. Ice dragons is a well run sim and they do a great job. But Jesse over in Bad Girls really should be giving the credit for 100 in the sim.....Pluging some happening around SL should be closely monitored ( By LLABS) since misinformation cause harm to others.

Well, sorta...

If you buy a sim, there is a lil box where you can choose the maximum number of people you will allow into the sim. It will only go up to 100, though. I think it is defaulted to 40.
