That appears to be the max as no one else was able to enter. There was some time dilation fluctuation but nothing TOO bad. And to think, all this because of camping chairs.

Well it was done in preview and now has been accomplished on the main grid. IceDragons now has 100 people in the sim.

If all of those people are in camping chairs... IceDragon will be bankrupt in like, 3 weeks.

rule of thumb, if your sig is longer than your post, either you didn't need to post, or you need to edit your sig.

Why are some sims capped at 40 people max, and others at 100?

Great pic... what is it? New postage stamp? The small picture is a link. I don't know exactly how we make a picture that serves as a link here. ReallyRick used one that I saw a little earlier tonight that didn't work for me even though he made a comment in that thread about having fixed it. I am not sure if one can tell just by by looking that a picture is a link. _____________________

What difference does this make??? Absolutly NONE It doesn't make a difference, but it is a fascinating question. The same sim that had 68 people the other night sitting in camp chairs, not a one of them active, is now the sim with over 100 people in it. They have to be paying out a fortune - to the tune of millions of L$ to players. Nothing wrong with that, though it does seem to be against the entire spirit of competing for dwell. It's just interesting that the competition for dwell has gotten so fierce that it's come down to laying out that kind of money to try to make the chart. _____________________

So the gist of this thread is we should fire up all our alts and our AutoIt and go find some good camp chairs, does that about sum it up?

I don't know exactly how we make a picture that serves as a link here. If you see someone do something interesting in their post and want to know how to do it, click the associated Quote button and examine the code. In this case, a clickable/linkable image is an IMG tag wrapped in a URL tag. So the gist of this thread is we should fire up all our alts and our AutoIt and go find some good camp chairs, does that about sum it up? The gist, or at least the original intent, of the thread seems to me to be two-fold: 1) brag about 100 people in a sim 2) lament that they're all in camping chairs HP |

The gist, or at least the original intent, of the thread seems to me to be two-fold: 1) brag about 100 people in a sim 2) lament that they're all in camping chairs HP The intent was to acknowledge that this feat had now been accomplished. A "Wow who woulda thunk it," kinda thing. Also to point out that it was pretty amazing there wasn't considerable lag. I am not affiliated with IceDragons in any way nor do I know the people who own it. Yes it is sad to see that the way it was achieved was by the use of camping chairs and relates to this thread here in which I asked if it really is worth it simply to get the Developer Incentive Award. _____________________

Is there anyone besides me that finds the idea of a "camping chair" outright comical, though?
I mean, sure. In a world where we "can do anything," we now have the idea that makes MMOs work (pun intended) crystallized into its purest form. You too can make money by doing nothing! Sign up today! Now. The people camping are adults. I'm not going to pull out the "oh noes, it's gaming the system" because really, it's not. It's preying on ignorance and poverty. A bit more fundamental problem, I suppose. Holistically speaking, whoever invented the thing needs a pat on the back. Very efficient. Ethically speaking, I'd best bite my tongue here. _____________________

I am not affiliated with IceDragons in any way nor do I know the people who own it. It's hardly amazing there was no lag if nobody is moving though, is it. Get those 100 people to move. Ah, there's your lag! _____________________

I think its the purest form of gaming the system, blatent? Oh yes. Get a basic account FREE, log on threw another computer, sit on a chair, and take the money. Of course if these folks would get up off their dead asses they would make more at Mc Donalds but you can't tell these folks that. That would mean they would have to get up. LOL _____________________

Err. How is that gaming the system when the power bill arrives for all that money-chair time?
In IceDragon, the system games you. That's more or less my point. _____________________

What difference does this make??? Absolutly NONE Well, MAgnum, in my reality, money doesn't grow on trees. 8 million lindens = $32,000 a month. Even if they're making a million lindens a month, they still have to come up with 7 million more. Worst. Business plan. Ever. LF _____________________
