Does anyone else think that Secondlife is starting to lose its originality?
everyone on second life pretty much looks the same.
they all have pretty much the same hair.
the same skin.
the same clothes.
the same shape.
I Mean If thats how you wanna be i have no problem but...where is the originality?

I disagree on every point. I've seen plenty of variation. Perhaps you should start travelling in different circles so you are not looking at the same people all the time?

Same hair? Seen Lash's hair? Hosequeen's?Same skin? Looked here?Same clothes? Shopped at Silver Rose?Same shape? How about this, this, this , this, or this? How about this or this? Of course, the most important question is: Have you done anything original in SL yourself? Anyway, I think originality is nice when it happens, but it isn't the holy grail, nor even particularly necessary. I prefer things that are interesting and done well a lot more than the endless pursuit of novelty for its own sake.

Boring as hell. A 3D chat room with eye candy. I spend way more time reading the forums than in-world anymore. I guess all those 80-hour weeks I did in-world when I first signed up did burn me out on it.

I'm just warming up. There's always something to learn, somewhere to explore, something to be inspired by. I look at other people's work and it pushes me to develop my building more, I like seeing if I can do better than my previous build. If you go looking there's so much that's amazing and breathtaking in SL. The Future comes instantly to mind. And I'm still meeting fascinating people. I'm not bored.

I think SecondLife is the only 3D world where I can recognise my friends trough the faces of their avatars alone.

You cant get bored if you do something. BUT IF you want to get bored of course you get bored-.. its a very from inside out feeling.. .
IF you walk same way at same time every day IRL you will get bored same in SL..
Try another part another place another time and all that kind of stuff and you will find something new..
Good Luck! And happy Easter..
Tina - very EXAKT-. and take a look at a new sim as often as possible..

I have 600 prims worth of facial pierces attached to my face. From: Napoleon Astro they all have pretty much the same hair.
I'm bald with a lock of hair in the front and a ponytail. From: Napoleon Astro the same skin.
I actually own the texture to my skin and have used it to repalce the client slide skin files. pretty custom stuff. From: Napoleon Astro
the same clothes.
Currently I'm wearing the latest fashions from Mischief - But i could at any time switch to Nephilaine limiteds. From: Napoleon Astro the same shape.
Ugh, sharing the same shape is gross. From: Napoleon Astro I Mean If thats how you wanna be i have no problem but...where is the originality?

Briana is TEH HAWTNESS. To the thread originator, I'd suggest flying out of that sim where you spend all your time and exploring a bit. There are tons of different themes throughout SL; sounds like you're stuck in a barbie style club from the content of your post. Spend 5 minutes with Psyra and the Welcome Area and tell me everyone looks the same! Regards, -Flip

I disagree. I never see other people while I am sitting on my platform working all to my lonesome.

I think the phenomenon is that there are many more people in SL than when you joined (when there were about 35k), and more of them are new and wearing default skins (which I still do). Then, too, more of them are mainstream now, rather than computer geeks, and there are more who are just trying the game for a while as a free basic. So overall, there could appear to be many more "normals" than "unusuals," even if just because there are so many more people now. coco

I am feeling the exact opposite. SL is growing and changing at a pace MUCH faster than I can keep up with. It's not boring, it's damn near intimidating.

Boring, depends what you want to do, mostly what i do in SL have to do with builds thats as of now to aggrivating with all the bugs ,cut prim ever getting fixed?. 0.49~0.5 0.69~0.7 ect, these easy appears as cracks on builds, no fun, been waiting for Local Light to be fixed months since i love building with them -.-; looking good on preview now tho.
SL badly need a better way to actually find various things, without wading through webpages or classified ingame (blaah), to random, im still as clueless finding anything in SL as i was as noobie.

From: Napoleon Astro where is the originality? Your world, your imagination, right? Start using that imagination to come up with more original things and spread them around. Don't like what you see, offer an alternative. If things look stagnant, maybe you're being too passive.

I make a habit of finding new clothes, tweaking my shape until I'm unique, finding new hair to wear, and making my own skins.
Might I suggest you make content so you can have an impact?
The nice thing about SL - you can either sit and complain, or boot up photoshop... and change things.
