Indeed it is :)

But therein lies the giggle I guess - the more intelligent people you throw in the stupider the solution comes out.

I tried throwing a bunch of monkeys together on typewriters once, but instead of a solution they just kept giving me the script of Hamlet.

That is so very true, but becomes abundantly apparent in this little space. :)

so is cybin helping clarify things by putting forth opinions which may or may not be in line with actual linden policy. though it would be nice if one could be sure what linden policy was... thus... does cybin know if robin, jeska, or torley agree with cybin's opinions?

is cybin speaking for cybin or for linden labs?

is cybin speaking as another customer, a resmod, or a linden mouthpiece?

how seriously should we take what cybin has to say?

as far as profanity goes, i'm stating the most recent Linden statement. also, as posted in the ResMod ResMod Best Practice by Jeska:
From: Jeska Linden
Clarification on Profanity/PG Nature of Forums

The Community Standards state that PG areas (including the web site/forum) should not contain "intense language or expletives" (my emphasis) - the Forum Guidelines further this by stating that "aggressively offensive personal attacks" (again, emphasis mine) will be removed. In practice, this means that minor cussing has been acceptable on the Second Life forums, but slurs, vulgarity, chat sex, descriptions of sex, etc. are not. In other words, "Quit your b****ing!" (exclamation) is OK while "You are a raving b****" (personal attack) is not OK.

If a post is reported for language, please be sure to consider the context in which they're being used. For example, "Holy s***!" as an exclamation of surprise in reaction to a funny posted photo would be ok, but "You're a stupid s***!" would probably fall under a personal attack and should be flagged for Linden reivew.

i'm sorry to have edited the profanity in this quote, i wasn't going to.. but i couldn't bring myself to allowing it to occur in this post when i never have before. the rules are the rules and i have no problem with them, i just personally choose not to include the full spelling of , or general use of, said words in one of my posts.

as far as how i am speaking.. it's not Linden sanctioned. it's both as resident and moderator.. whcih, to me, is what a ResMod is. i am a hybrid, i am "in between". i conduct myself the same on both sides of the equation and relate pertinent information the same way i would regardless of what my position is.

if there is anything you would like to know, specifically, please let me (or a Linden) know. if i do not know the answer, i will find out via official channels. if there is anything i have said that anyone considers my own conjecture and would like clarification, again.. let me know. i will do my best to clarify any point presented to me.

one last thing, thank you for the support shown here and the productive discussion at hand. it is through such unforgiving perseverance that we will make any progress at all.

Sure is how things in the real world work. But last time I checked SL was suppose to be better than rl not an extension of it. If sl became just like rl I would most certainly log out.

Cat

So SL is really just about chaos and people are tying to establish business within it.
And then complain it doesn't work.

Or is this two totally different groups of people.
:p
Interesting indeed.

I would probably use the log out button myself if only this stupid stuff wasn't interesting to me.
I should probably get help.

No one ownes a persons personal perception of what sl is. So as long as ppl are happy they have no reason to log out. My main concern IW is balance, there does not appear to be any these days. One example of this would be the once abundant interesting events schedule now being replaced by list of ppl wanting to be a)paid or b) to pay.

Dunno seems kinda bland to me.

Furthermore, as Second Life goes to the Metaverse, and this becomes an open platform, Linden Lab risks lawsuit in court and [attachment culling] will, I repeat WILL be reverse in court.

Okies - it is my *opinion* (and is unlikely to change so its not even worth debating) that the 'cookie' was made for the purposes of posting on the forums, with a sparkly new record around the same time the resmod program was announced. So given enough time you could do your resmoddy thing with it.

I didn't come up with this theory by myself - a few others think it too.

Anyways - thats nice n clear.. like I said , its my opinion, and unlikely to change, so not even worth discussing.

I leave speculation for horse races :D It makes life a lot simplier by taking things at face value :) at least for me.

Hell if I had to list off all those who post as alts here and every post based on "friendships" or "business associates" I would have a list as long as my arm. Since I can't name names here I suppose someday it will make a hell of blog post :D Either that or I will simply say "fook it, leave em to their head game bs. They fool no one anyway:D

Lets not start pointing fingers folks or I might have to get pop a cap in your asses :D

Are you nuts? Do my resmoddy thing? I have no intention of being a resmod here, or anywhere.

I explained about Cocoanut Cookie in the Notices and Well Wishes forum before I made my first post as Cookie.

Hi, how are you, my name is Sue, how do you do.

I hear there is a three dee virtual environment program kind of like There and kind of like that old Cybertown thing but it is supposed to be better.

It's called Second Life, so I am told, maybe some of you have tried it out and would like to to talk about it.

If anyone knows anything about Second Life virtual thing, or has any questions about it, this forum here sort of seems like it might be a fair place to post such stuff, at least part of the time.
