Well, he does make a point on consistency - if multiple people were shouting the slur, then it should apply to all of them, though personally I am fine with one person being made an example of in this case.

I use my land unless what I'm making goes over prim limit. Sandboxes are just that, sandboxes.. and cats use sandboxes at litterboxes. I'd forgotten about the "sit on a prim," and wished I'd remembered to do that a couple of days ago. I got bombed away from my build twice. Just Abuse Reported them and moved on. I'm too stuborn/stupid to worry about it too much. I guess I never relied too much on the Lindens doing much of anything but keeping the servers running.

As for the notething, Chris? Eh, if it really bothered me that badly, I'd have already IM'd you. It was just a first-time shock, but as long as it doesn't repeatedly give the notecard to me, I can deal. Now kids, frustration is when you are being prevented from accomplishing or completing a task, often with frustration comes anger. If you can honestly say you haven't been frustrated before and said or done something out of frustration then you are a liar.

Okay, two sides to every argument, there was no-one to keep the peace int he sandboxes and this should be a linden's job, be sure to try most lindens you see online. tick the online box, remember most will be busy, they work in an office and do more than play SL. I've usually seena sim come to most griefing events. sometimes late, sometimes not.

But your actions should always be innocent, don't start screaming abuse, you may at first ask them not to do that, if they hurl abuse at you, more dirt for thier grave as you can include chat in an abuse report. What you shouldn't do is hurl abuse at them, or fire upon them, all too often I've seen the tides turned and the victim get's banned for "Self defense". Remember you have to abide by the rules, even if other currently aren't. If it continues and you're not getting much help, best you can do is wait for the next attack to pass, link up your project, pick it up and go elsewhere. Or work on it another time. You shouldn't start hurling abuse at the lindens who are obviously busy, complain, maybe, but offending them, nono.

That's the best advice I can offer really.

You need to look at yourself and figure out why, out of frustration, you go right for calling someone a fag. People do all kinds of things out of frustration - it still doesn't make them right. While you were at it, why didn't you pick a racial slur too? I mean it's just frustration, right, so clearly it is fine to call someone whatever you want and you should just get a free pass. Thanks for explaining that to us kids. You are so much more enlightened than those of us who wouldn't go directly to using a gay slur because we are mad.

I get a little tired of "Lindens suck" type posts. In all of my time in SL I have requested a Linden's help many times and they have always responded immediately. Of course I was polite in my requests and very specific about what I wanted. Try that approach the next time.

Maybe wearing a short skirt helps too if it's a male Linden you are IMing.

A truly pointless question considering that again and again it has been pointed out that Live Helpers ARE NOT Lindens, have no real authority and cannot solve interpersonal disputes between residents.

Not pointless at all as Linden Liaisons also receive live help IMs.

Yet another thing for them to ignore I am sure. I stand by my comment and opinion that it is/would have been pointless to have contacted Live Help in this situation.

I had cause to contact them last eve over a matter of a automated attack drone left in one of the combat sims (Rausch) which was killing out of turn anything that came in sim in a hail of particles and fire effects, a constant stream. Called over LiveHelp, within five minutes Teeple Linden was there and offending object removed. So I guess I don't see this supposed lack of response nor do the majority of respondents to this thread.



Well, wouldn't be the first time someone being wrong on the forums, the point is they do listen and do respond.
