what the big deal about furry's ?

SO fair ever time i post a thread, it never fails some one turn it in a bashing war.
why can't we all post thread , with out Fleming or bashing.
I keep seeing anti furry threads.
do you all know what a furry is. furry is not beastly.
in fact most furrys are in cartoons,movies,books and comic.
Has any one watched bug bunny(Furry).
Being a furry is not having sex with animal, it about RPGing a Human like animal.
NOT every furry is having yiffs in SL. some RPG only.
I yiff sometime , but i am not in to sex with animal, I am not in to beastly.
SO come on can we all work together to make a better SL?

Would the correct plural be "furries" or "furrys"? According to the standard rules of English, it would be the former, but not being one (except in one cartoon drawn by a friend), I don't feel qualified to judge. Perhaps it is a word that is not handled according to the regular rules of English, e.g. an imported foreign word or an irregular plural (e.g. "kimono" or "mice".

Also, does the word still apply to non-furred anthropomorphic characters, i.e. those with feathers or scales? E.g. since we are referring to cartoon characters, is Otis a furry?

To get back to the original question, I have no idea what the prejudice is about. I think furry avs are cool, even though I don't use one. (Other than the possible lag from an abundance of attachments.)

Anyways, I really think that the whole "anti-furries" thing is more or less overstated. Sure, there are some people out there that flame furries, but they do tend to be the more vocal group... and then there's some furry that comes up and demands to be respected, usually in all the wrong ways.

I used to be all angry at the "persecuted furries", until I realized I really don't care what people say. If people attack people for being furry, I.E., try to tear down websites illegally or literally physically attack them, then I'll be more upset. But then, I'd be upset at that type of attacking against anyone.

As for explaining "what being furry" is all about, while many give their own definitions, furries are usually so liberal that their definitions can be very broad. Then there's the type that think that you have to do only one sort of thing to be labelled "furry". One thing I can say, though, is that actual "bestiality" is pretty rare in the furry groups, but not unexistant; there are a small minority of furries that actually demand the legal rights to go and have intimate relations with dogs and such. So they exist, but definitely not as a majority.

(I wasn't planning on being all vocal and stuff, but I figured there might as well be a "defender" that has semi-decent grammatical skills)

Yeah... I hate to say stuff about things I don't understand, but I was just really disturbed by that party/orgy scene in CSI las vegas where there was some furry convention and all the furries/furrys were feeling each other up in the mist of trance music. Of course, in that episode, one of the furries/furrys got mad at another furry because she was dancing with some other furry so the first furry murdered one of the other furries/furrys.

PS It's been a while since I saw that episode, so my memory is fuzzy... or FURRY!!!

The Forums are a place of Disney-like(tm) wonder. But, they're also very dangerous for the unaware or innocent.

It's a jungle in here. You need to know a few things if you want to survive. First, know that only the fittest threads survive. A thread that shows any signs of weakness will be dragged into a dark cave to feed the bellies of howling Wolfen.

A thread that reveals any unique traits which aren't immediately frightening will be pecked to death by Beakbeasts. And let me tell you, them peckers *hurt*.

A thread has to "walk the walk" and "talk the talk" to make it. Some defects to avoid are:

1) misspellings. this may be the number one thing to avoid. Use www.m-w.com if you aren't sure how to spell a word. misspelled words mark your post for death. misspelled words are a "gimpy leg" that will get you chewed.

2) random capitalizations. these are not as bad as misspelling, but they will get you laughed at and pecked. they are an "extra nipple" or a "white man's afro" or a "that guy at the bus station who yells at empty benches" kind of mistake. random caps will NOT get you laid. random caps combined with misspellings *in the same word* may work as a survival tactic, since you're practically unfit to be eaten at that point, but you will end up a LONELY little Fur.

3) rants that aren't entertaining. we all love a good rant. drama is the tasy, warm, rich, flowing lifeblood of the Forums. mmm.. lifeblood. where was I? Oh, yeah. if you're going to rant, FOCUS. ranting is an art, not for beginners. a rant should be a razor claw, an ivory fang, piercing the foolish heart of lamers and lapping their... Dang. A rant should arouse its readers to gather into packs and howl. an incoherent rant wastes all our precious Forum time and makes us angry at the ranter instead of his subject. Not a recipe for survival.

4) i was going to add more things but I'm really aroused now. maybe you better go. or not.
