"Age play" in SL

Well said. This isn't *real* children we're talking about... if it were, then of course it would be criminal activity. Age play isn't my thing, but I think we need to remember the key word is *play.* If the parties involved are two consenting adults, what's the problem? Just having the fantasy doesn't mean you're a criminal.

Human beings have lots of wierd sex fantasies. Many women enjoy rape fantasies; if my partner agrees to take part in such a scenario with me, does that mean he's just a step away from commiting a *real* rape? No, it doesn't.

One purpose of fantasies is to allow us to mentally (or physically, in a safe, controlled situation) allow us to experience something that we would never be able or willing to experience in real life. Most people (I would hope) have enough self control, and enough of a sense of morality, to never want to *really* have sex with a child. We can't make judgements like that about people based solely on a sex fantasy; we'd have to know more about their personality and behavior, and other RL info that we don't have access to here.

And seriously, if age play is so creepy, how about all those people who sell and buy and wear schoolgirl outfits? People don't seem to have a problem with that. It's like any other fetish; if it isn't your thing, don't do it. If you have kids, it's essential to be careful, but I don't think we should go so far as to jump to conclusions about adults in a game that's built on fantasy.

Frankly the fact that people say "It's wrong" make me sick. The reason being is that WHY is it sick? Cause someone told you 20+ years agot that it was sick? Maybe there are a few things you are not aware of that happen in SL that you should thinka bout first.

Vampirism = Drinking of human or animal blood for ritual or survival reasons. This by most definations are sick. It can spread disease, lead to death, infection, etc if done in RL but look...we have an entire island of them..no wait...two...or was that three?

Age play = PRETENDING to be a age you are not. Be it older or younger (Yes I have RPed being older and many think I am.).

Yiffy = two furs doing something mature...two animal creatures doing "the deed".

Pony/Dog Play = People pretending to be animals for the same ends as age play. People as animals doing "the deed".

Gor = Fantasy BDSM styled world in which women predominatly have no real say in what occurs to them. They are property and below men. Women having things done to them without consent...sound familiar?

In kink we have a saying YKINMK "Your kink is not my kink"....but I'll understand and accept yours respectfully. I learned this at a young age and frankly kink should be replaced with a more board term...words to live by.

Since when were we talking about molesting real children? I thought we were talking about two consenting adults, over the age of 18, in a computer game, pretending something while having sex. I guess I must just be slow, I would have sworn children weren't even allowed to be here.

Profiling rules to be sure - for the INVESTIGATORS - but this says nothing about removing any potential avenue that pedophiles might have to gratify/fuel their needs at the expense of the general populace. There was actually a big controversy with an "age-player" a while back over at SL Herald. She was a girl who played a Sasami (for those who don't know, she's a little anime girl who looks like she's 9 or 10 but is actually a few hundred years old from a series called Tenchi Muyo) and was in a few bondage groups and the Edge's escorts. She also sold hentai drawings of young girls, and that's where most of the controversy came from since LL and some of the user base weren't sure to whether that would be considered child porn.

Anyways, back then that was a very isolated incident but now i've noticed that it's started to gain popularity in SL, there's Withnail's Academy for Wayward Girls which hosts a Victorian style bondage Age-play thing and the Furries have a bunch of "baby furs" running around.

Back then, I also used to become appalled by this stuff too, but you know, in the recent months of SL I think we've had an influx of just about every kink known to man and i'm starting to get desensitized to all this stuff, so you know what? Who cares, they're both consenting adults and as long as they keep that stuff out of my face I don't care that much.

I even leave the Gors alone nowadays as long as they keep the Gor in the Gor sims and don't bring it to me.

Basically face it: SL is a boiling sex pot ready to overflow with just about any fetish you can (and can't) imagine. Welcome to the human race's underbelly.

That's because the male is often seen as the initiator of the sexual act.

Therefore if a minor male and and adult female have intercourse, of course the male started it.

And there's no law against a minor having sex with an adult, the law is that an adult can't have sex with a minor.

This means that it's illegal to make it "appear" that a minor is engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

However, the document also goes on to say that this law is being challenged in various jurisdictions.

So, regardless of whether this is "ickY", this could be a crime.

We had to look into that law pretty deeply in that Sasami thing, what we ended up with is a law that had been made legal and illegal like 3 times, but for now I think it's legal unless they overturned it again and made it illegal. Basically if it's drawn or virtual and there's no way of proving age then it's legal from the last time I saw it.

It's still sick, rationalize it all you want.
