In some countries, a girl of 9 years old is considered marriagable, even in today's times. In the not too distant past, any girl old enough to menstruate was considered old enough to marry (and breed with). Even in today's societies, 10 year old boys fantasize about 10 year old girls. 60 year old men fantasize about 20 year old men. We imagine that a 60 year old man and a 20 year old woman is somehow less "icky" than the idea of a 30 year old man and a 10 year old girl. In both cases, the man is three times the girl's age... but one is acceptable and the other isn't. How often does an attractive woman show up at a Halloween party dressed in pigtails and a "school girl" outfit? To me, it's not all that surprising. In fact, I am almost certain that age play was happening almost as soon as someone figured out that they could make a naked 9 year old avatar. For some reason, the carnal male desires young, untouched females for reproduction. While men are conditioned in this society to avoid those females under 18, it's certainly a normal male reaction to sexually desire younger women. I can't change that, nor do I make a judgement on it. I just see it as a simple piece of data. While there IS an "eww" factor, it seems less deviant to me (from a biological standpoint) than some of the other behaviors I see every day in real life. |

It leads to "objectification", which is the process of thinking of another human being as an object rather than a person. When a man looks at a woman and thinks, there's a set of boobs, a vagina, and a nice butt, he takes away her humanity and replaces it with a series of sex toys. This has its toll on the women involved, too. They eventually think of themselves as less than the human beings they ought to be, and they think of sex, which should be part of the bonding process of man and woman, as just a tool. But it's also our right in this country to indulge ourselves, as long as no harm is done to others. What astounds me is the haphazard way those policies are enforced. What's "harmful" in one state is "not harmful" in another. |

I don't think it's right. But it happens. Taking the entirety of history into account, modern Western culture is in the minority when it comes to our sexual morality. Age play?
