Okay, look. I know I'm new, and I also know I can't do much to stop you guys, but take it easy on the Lindens. Linden Labs made Second Life for us, the users. Therefore, we should be happy. When they update it, they're not intentionally trying to fuck it up, everyone here knows that. They're trying to enhance Second Life, yet all of you complain when one of their enhancements go wrong, and its down for a while. Just be happy you have the damn thing to begin with, because if we're not satisfied with it, perhaps LL should just shut down Second Life? I bet you'd all regret the constant hateful comments you make, then! They're trying, and I know it can be a huge bother when you're constructing something with all the bugs and stuff, but trust me, they'll get worked out, if you like the goddamn game, stop bashing the Lindens. Otherwise, get the fuck out.
-Aden.

Maybe when you're paying out lots of money to use something that doesn't function correctly, you'd understand some of our frustration, especially when things that have been perfectly fine for a long long time suddenly decide to stop working as they have been, and are intended to work.
I'm only paying $35 a month at the moment but some people are paying hundreds of dollars to play this game.

OMG, I can't believe this! How dare you?
LL must be sworn at, belittled and generally abused or nothing will go my way.
Get back here and post something more appropriate. At least you could try to fit in.

Like you said... You're new. I had very much the same opinion when I first got into SL but I've grown to have a fair amount of concern with the Lindens. Especially being a Mac user that's constantly ignored when update time comes around. If you review many of the recent policy changes, you'll see that it's been a loooonnng time since the Lindens made any changes that benefitted users more than Linden Labs.

<shrugs> Really, you have three courts. The courts of screamers, whiners, cheerleaders, and nulls. Each court was named by the other two, if you can get the joke. The Screamers complain about everything and anything. They hate change, they hate it when things stay the same, they hate it when they hear it. The Whiners ask for things, and complain when they don't get it. They think that SL belongs to them and them alone, and that everything being done should be to benefit them. The Cheerleaders love everything there is about second life. They weep for joy at every upgrade and defend every bug. They are the natural prey of the Whiners and Screamers, and are often hunted to extinction. The Nulls just play second life, do what they think is fun, tell LL when there are problems, and try to not get drawn into every little problem. They really don't count, since people never pay attention to them anyway. I personally see that as the ecosystem of not only SL, but every other community on or off the internet. You can look back through a person's posts and see which direction a person leans, and take their comments with the proper amount of salt. Even my own. Regadless, each court will continue to do what they do best, so don't worry about it. It never ends, so just go and do what you enjoy! Oh... And if anyone thinks I'm talking about them especially, I wasn't. Really. Seriously. (Anyone think I should add trolls in there, or are they a subgroup?)

That you even know what an alt is suggests that you are an alt.

From: Foolish Frost <shrugs> (Anyone think I should add trolls in there, or are they a subgroup?) Hey Foolish, nice summary of the native flora and fauna of the board. Perhaps the sub-species "trollus interneticus" might fit into another possible category, "The Entertainers" which consists of those of us who use the theatrical potential of the forums as a means of attempting to provide amusement to others, or simply amusing themselves. This includes of course other sub-groups such as Comedians, Drama Royalty, Intellectuals, Doodlers and Purveyors of Pie. Generally, those of us who are usually in these subgroups are "mostly harmless" as the book says.

-Aden. I don't think you are an old enough to have an opinion on the matter worth listening to. You are still feeling all warm and fuzzy and excited about the new metaverse you discovered with Second Life. WE the people, many of us who have been here for months and YEARS, have been dealing with updates since version 1.0. We have experienced good updates and bad updates. It's our right to complain. We have put massive time into creating content and guiding the development of SL by our own actions. YOU try taking it easy on the Lindens after you have been dealing with loads of buggy updates for nearly 3 years. Briana Dawson

You wrongly assume that all people new to SL are already familiar with other online games.

Musuko. It is a given that a day on this forum will introduce you to the term "alt". It is assumed that if you don't know what it is, you have internet access and can look it up. Unless you are one of the sorry saps on this forum without a computer.

There is some truth to what Aden says. But you also have to look at it from the standpoint of how many people post to the forums compared to the number of people the don't. Then you also have to look at why someone would post a comment. The forums become a very negative place because of the actions of a few. I also believe that some people just like to be heard. There have been good updates and bad updates. I remember after on update I couldn't log in for about 3 days. There were other updates that really screwed things up. 1.5 and 1.7 seem to come to mind right now. What really can be done? Posting a bunch of words to a forums is not going to make LL change the path they are going on. They have never rolled back to a older version because people didn't like it. I still am amazed that people will still call for it to be done. If you are truly dissatisfied then I do suggest that you let your money do the talking. That is the end is the most powerful thing that a user has against a company.
Yeah, I guess I am somewhat of a cheerleader, but I do believe that LL is for the most part doing what is best for all involved.

Then they can go back to the old snapshot system. I wasn't aware ignoring bug comments and complaints in preview was for the better of all.
