Why is no one reporting casting a hundred or more votes? Can't you get as many accounts as you want and vote with each of them?

I suppose one could write an AutoIt script or some such to handle logging in each account and going to the voting page and casting the desired votes.

...means to more effectively rub LL's collective nose in the soiled messes they've allowed others to make all over 'our world', to somehow get them to share inhaling that inescapable, pervasive aroma with the rest of us... well, all the better, say I.
I certainly agree with the spirit of what you say, unfortunately, LL's customers are experiencing this "soiled mess" because subscriber count is the LL priority now that they've given up on profitability.

I don't think it is necessary to flood the voting with alt votes - it has plenty of support on its own without that. The negative response to this change is almost unanimous. I would actually feel better knowing people just didn't jam it with votes from alts but that enough people were concerned about this to use their indiviudal votes to express that.

My point is that the open registration has rendered the voting sytem completely meaningless.

A voting prop in support of no verification could get a thousand votes from one person.

I gave it all 10 of my votes. Although I can see LL needing to open it up, and the benefits, I think they need to go about it better than this.

1063.

I added 70 votes. Don't ask how, but it could have been many more except that I have another proposal that I'm pushing.

Added 30 votes. I've had 3 avatars for a year or so. Registration Checks have never prevented me from playing and developing my avatars as needed. Their absence will. Bring them back!

First time voter...
06-20-2006 02:20
This issue is the only one that's ever made me want to cast a vote or two.

All 10 of mine are cast on this proposal, however, even though I can see the benefit of hopefully getting through to the lindens via this system and the number of people who appear to be unhappy with the way things are, we must remember there is one line on the feature voting page no one seems to have mentioned.

- please don't put bugs or policy changes into the feature voting tool.

I really don't want to rain on the parade, but is this not a policy change?

Yeah. but this is another thing where LL are full of shit. One of the very earliest proposals to get accepted - mine (Prioritize bugfixing over new features ) - was that they'd concentrate on bugfixes in preference to shiny new features that bolster their PR. In accepting it, they asked for the voting tool to be used - completely against their own request right there in the tool - that any bugs you want fixing be proposed and voted on. So they could ignore them like they ignore everything else in there.

It's all so much bullshit. A nice hands off way for them to pretend to be listening.

Wow, ty for that!

Also, I wanted to point out something someone else pointed out to me. A friend of mine went to vote and almost voted for the wrong one. It seems someone has started a proposal for no verification, which is fine, thats their perogative. Not everyone agrees this is a bad thing. Just wanted to point it out so no one makes the mistake my friend almost made.

It's over a thousand now... This is great! Between the vote, the emails (people are emailing Phillip Linden too) and all the yelling here in the forums... LL HAS to notice.

And yes it is, I saw that too. But the point is to get LL to notice that they've made such a huge percentage of their customers very unhappy. Even if they take it off the voting feature, they still have to notice it.

Someone said to me today, SL is not a democracy, its a business. The owners make the decisions. And he was right about that. So the voting thing is more about making the business owners see what the majority of their customers really want and giving them the opportunity to provide it.

And ty :)

I think you people need to look on the positive side, look at how many good new members have come along (including myself). For those that agree that verification shouldn't return should vote here.

Maybe if someone immature comes along and does something 'oh so horrible' to you, just report him/her and just continue on and get over it? Then again this is a "First Life" to some!

For the sake of it, you can vote agains't the return of verfication here.

On a side note, this post isn't meant to offend anybody.

Cheerio,
