I had one Alt, before 6/6/6 for a group. But created 3 more after. Mostly for just testing the system and creating fun names. And it actually was usefull, because I and someothers found a error in the account creation and quickly got that fixed by LL.

Technically? I AM an alt. Originally I was a Candour, shortly after my 18th birthday, but didn't get to play much during my free trial, so I didn't shill out.
Then I had the Asturias last name, after it became free to play. Happily skipped across the grid for months, held down a job for a little while. My significant other was a little bothered with how much time I spent in-world. Having been snubbed for the Internet before, I felt her pain and left without a backward glance (not that I had time to play during my spring semester anyway; nearly ruined winter term as it was between all of the goings-on outside of school). When i was an Asturias, I made a friend named Divine Resistance, and thought it was perhaps the coolest surname in the world and needed to have it for myself. (I also had a lot of friends at this point, some far more, eh, sociable than others. The referrer money helped too, I'll admit.)
Van sat unused for several months, for reasons mentioned above. My SO eventually expessed some interest in Second Life, and now she and I play together; I get to have a name that sounds like it should make me queen of the cyborgs, and she has a name like a little mafioso. <Smirks.>
Since open signups, both she and I decided to make alts with the Edgeworth last name, partly because we wanted to see if this "no age verification!!" thing was true, and partly because we had sort of wanted the same last name anyway.

From: Zi Ree 0 Why? Exactly. Why? Indeed. I don't have the time for a start. Met somebody at Waterhead yesterday being bullied by others...and it turned out to be an Alt. The girl controlling "him" IMd me to tell. When asked if she just created him for fun...she said it was so she could buy another piece of 512 land. But er...the $5pm land fee would be cheaper than a premium alt, no? Should've hung around and asked more questions. I also know of somebody being befriended and tailed since 6/6 by an Alt of somebody she fell out with. Once removed from friend's list, his account doesn't seem so active. Alts are a bit weird really. -- Dillon
