45 minutes into the meeting. Philip has done nothing but ramble on about inconsequential matters.

Not a single resident question has been tabled. Oh, one was, but he ignored it.

I was wondering quite what the point was of asking us to submit questions in the forums as I haven't seen anything mentioned about them.

Might as well not have bothered to turn up. It's the first one I've been to, and frankly it'll probably be the last as it was such a pathetic excuse for a meeting.

My guess is that Phil needs some training on how meetings are supposed to happen.

Oh, he's touched on a couple resident questions, but it's the questions being yelled out by the Tourette's sufferers in the audience, and not those submitted by residents following the 'rules.'

I love how everyone decides that the Townhall meeting is the perfect time to test out each others nipple rings and such

Coupled with the invite to tour the LL offices, if Phil pays for the flight I'd be glad to do both in one visit.

It's called 'PR talk'. Lots of words, sometimes telling us things we already know, but nothing new.

Why would he tell us stuff that was new? He'd end up having to actually *do* something.

Is it funny that Philip can't use the software collaboratively?

So I'll take it that you all still know that 2 plus 2 equals 4 and not 5?.

Super! You're a strong minded bunch.

Will there be a transcript, or was it really that bad?

Why was it bad?

90 minutes boiled down to my 2-minute summary:

1) Alpha ordering bug - to be fixed RSN (real soon now).
2) FPS improvements within 'cpl of weeks'
3) 2D and panel browsing windows by June.
4) No 3D browsing by June.
5) Havok a non-priority, dont expect it anytime soon.

...plus 88 minutes of PR speak, totally devoid of real answers.

It was pretty bad. I spent an hour crashing there before it began, and a half an hour crashing there AFTER it began, but I did get to finally see a somewhat distant figure of Philip in the flesh! Er, in the pixels!

Then I listened to the rest of it via radio. Seemed to me that the questions sent in were not answered, in favor of answering questions shouted out.

But I did learn that they do "pass the love" in the office, and Philip hopes to keep the office the same wacky place it has always been, even as SL grows. And that he expects to have millions of players in SL.

Did he see his own shadow?

Thats the real question.

As for the nipple rings and shouters - yeah that annoys me - due to my work schedule I've been able to attend exactly 1 town hall meeting in my entire time in SL.. that folks get the opportunity to go and ask questions of the CEO of a company (irrespective of your current views OF the company atm) is a great opportunity.

And they throw it away to say 'oh look at me mom!' - It really is a shame.

I'm all one for fucktardiness - being one of the worlds resident biggest fucktards/jokers/assholes.... but there is a time and a place for everything.

That isn't the time, nor the place...

Well now that you've said this. They may stop trying to schedule the townhalls so as to avoid you. :D

I thought it went pretty well all in all. More group tools and mainland sim tools were also mentioned. More productive than some townhalls I have been to. It felt like the good old days in some respects. :) I enjoyed it.

Take Care All.
