Life is a buffet my friend, and this week has been well stocked! I can't pick just one - they have all been brilliant. Never before have so many things converged at the same time to provide so much vicarious entertainment.

The JEVN drama should win hands down, due to the remarkable variety, wide scope and ongoing nature.

Plus, the personal dimension is not to be missed. It is a microcosm of SL culture, all in one thread. A tale of technology and greed, back door dealings, betrayal, and possible redemption.

I eagerly await the sequel...

ah, sorry.

For a moment I forgot it wasn't merely fictional drama.

How could they oust Hank from his land?

the JEVN story did have all the elements, and if you factor in the surprise of the "Corn Sim," this has more twists and turns than the 6th Sense AND Angel Heart COMBINED!

The most amazing fact is that all that went down in public, and the owner still has yet to make a statement

honestly, I would want to stay as far away from that trainwreck as I could, but she certainly doesn't want those 2 being her spokesman

I have to agree, the JEVN was indeed something special

I have a feeling the others may still be developing and simmering

The grid crash that ate objects
12-15-2005 16:11
That would concern me most of these, and next to it the JEVN server issue. Having a griefer come in world with a self-replicating object that finds and deletes other player's objects is by far the most frightening and biggest news of the week.

Did that remind anyone else of pac man? hmmm...

I debated but the griefer does not have a bizness that could be effected by him/her crashing the grid, so I omitted it

this was specific to bizness scandals

i was deciding whether to include the ebay item but the reaction on the poll was positive

thus I added the "in world" qualification to omit LLs mistakes

they get enough shit from us, I figure they deserve a chance to partake of the schadenfreude for once regarding public perception of bizness mistakes

I must say, the potent drama factor and sheer quantity of forum brouhahas has vastly increased since I first started in SL two and a half years ago. Now, if I only had time to keep up with it all... *sigh*

(Okay, how long 'til this thread is closed? Or edited? Or... maybe moved? Is it a Notice and/or Well-Wish? Hmmm.)
