If you don;t have any take a look at the completed auctions forums. severva sims have been auctioned off for $1 and one for a whopping $50 - at least one of them wasnt showing up on the auction page at all - which basucally means if you knew how to exploit this bug, feature whatever it is you get to buy land CHEAP, I figured it out I am sure more of you can unfortunately I do have morals and was busy trying to report the bug/error/whatever to a Linden as I was watching one be sold. I dont know about you but I feel completely disillusioned and cheated. I spend 16 hours a day 7 days a week trying to make enough money to pay my paltry tier because I am unemployed, watching someone buy a sim for $50 us cutting it up and selling 8192 parcels for 64000L makes me wonder why I am trying to build things that look nice or add quality content to the world, I'm currently sitting in world trying to find the incentive to build a garden I was commisioned to do and frankly I just want to cry. I tried to talk to a man who I respect in world about it and his attitude was life isnt fair - while that may be true doesnt mean I have to like it

Because people are buying full sims for $1-50 dollars and then making a huge profit off of it?

http://secondlife.com/auctions/closed.php Wow. I just looked, and yes, there are essentially entire sims that have gone for 1 USD according to the auction page. And something else I don't understand: a 1 USD and a 50 USD closed auction with no land associated with it? I haven't bothered, but I'm guessing it would be pretty easy to find out who bought and is selling the bulk of that land. It would be *very* interesting to hear what the winners of such auctions had to say about it.

franhly I'd be much more interested in what LL has to say I watched over the weekend as these parcels were cut up and placed on the market or sold to laand speculators , so it lookd lie somebody made a few thousand dollars for a pittance of an investment, at the expense of those of us who actually do have some ethcs

Medina Speculaas is a Live Helper and SL Mentor. Mezentius is an Instructor. Both are members of the same land holding group. If this is an ethics issue these folks should be better than that. The other benificary of this appears to have been Thunder Lardner, who is in the same group ("HOUSE OF CIN" as the two Speculaas characters.

Are you sure this isn't a glitch?

From: Magnum Serpentine Are you sure this isn't a glitch? The fact that there were no other bidders on the auction is suspicious, even if the land prices were glitched.

From: Magnum Serpentine Are you sure this isn't a glitch? If it was a glitch, why did the same person do it about 5 times? Also, someone said they saw the sims getting split up for re-sell, so obviously he bought them. If he had to pay the 1k minimum, why did he/she do it more than once?

It could well be a glitch in the code that is displaying what the auction price was on that page.
If not then... well, yeah, wow.

I checked the map, the sims really are split up for sale. Hmm. You'll get an answer eventually, sometimes it takes a bit while they find the answer.
On another auction-related note, has anybody else noticed that a certain large land baron has been defaulting on her auctions? The Celadon parcel for auction right now, for example. Blanket bidding and then picking and choosing what she wants? Seems like if I was LL I'd be pretty irritated at that.

It might be a glitch in that it seems some parcels up for auction arent being displayed, but are still up for bidding. I saw a bidwar between two people over a sim just half an hour or so ago that ended at $151, and then the winner appeared in the parcel, and took ownership of it. It has not yet showed up in the completed auction list, but it is currently for sale in world. Not sure how much information I can give away without getting the thread closed, but this obviously seems like an oversight and not intended behavior. There are at least 3 more sims closing in the next day that currently have bids of $1 or less that I have been able to find.

Oh, maybe the Lindens took them down. I've been poking around trying to figure out how they could've done that as an exploit, but I don't see any way, maybe it's been fixed and we'll soon be short a land baron.
