why?
02-04-2009 01:16
Why do we say Robin will be missed as like missed as leaving us all forever... But indeed I just met you in short time as Robin and reading all the messages.. As a mother of Second Life. Childeren growup and then you have to let them go and then for the parents it means free time. Time to explore Nevertheless..You as mother will remain keeping an eye on the children to see if they are doing allright if they grow and develope as all mothers do.... Robin, we will miss you as Robin Linden but...as mother you be around I can only say thank you so much for guiding and parenting all the childeren in this huge wonderfull garden!! And honoured to have met you and hopefully meet again on your travels regards JoJa

Dear Robin,
After seven years at the same company i do agree it's time to go for new paths. This kind of changes in our lives may never stop from time to time i think. Sometimes they are decided by our selves, sometimes by other influences, or for whatever other reason i don't always know. I just trust it is for your best.
I wish you all the luck and the best possible to find the avenue at your passion and suites you the best for the next chapter in your professional life.
Lovely regards, Linda

Robin, sad to see you go as Robin Linden, but I hope you'll stay around for a long time as Taliesin!

good bye notes
02-05-2009 17:21
Silly thought, i have them from time to time
consider putting a box on your land at alice where the bear is so people can put notes in it to say good bye to you
or not
just a thought changes like these make me sad I wish i had had the opportunity to get to know you a little bit more

Good luck

Robin, I never met you (never saw any Linden anyway...), but I have a bear now, thanks! I wish you all the best for the future and I can well imagine that there are better places than SL at it's current path, so whatever the real reasons for your decision have been, it is most probably a wise decision.
Tons of good luck to you!

All the best for your future in whatever you decide to do with it. I am sure that the years you served at Linden Labs will be of immense value on your resume. I am envious.

Robin,
I fondly remember the few times we met and spoke in SL and RL, your words where full of passion and wisdom. This thread is full of sad farewells, praise and stories, I won't repeat them because I lack the skill to write them so beautifully. But even more so, while this is a end, it also a begin. So let me greet you joyously to your new life outside the lab. That it may bring you new challenges that will inspire you, and inspiration to seek out new challenges. And hope that one day we will learn how your life story unfolded in new wondrous paths as Robin and Taliesin. See you inworld or outside!
Be the change, Frans

Robin: You've managed to draw me out of my slumber and given me reason me to post on the MG boards. There's got to be something to be said for that.
I thought about it a bit, and you were, after a fashion, one of the people I'd most associate with Second Life. The first time I met you was under less than ideal circumstances, but I'd like to think that I've gotten to know you on much better terms since then, and through our brief interactions I've come to know you as someone who is always there and always very dedicated. I'm incredibly sad to see you leave Linden Lab, I think you were an enormous positive contribution to the overall atmosphere, in world and out. You will be sorely missed, and I'm sure not just by me, or even by those who have made the effort to post here but by everyone you impacted with your dedication to the vision of Second Life.
I really hope you find something that gives you just as much joy as Second Life and that you're able to bring the same virtues that so many people here have commented on to bear no matter where you go.
