it's 40 minutes now and club is still not up. My set is long over. RL plans to watch NYE fireworks set aside to "broadcast to the world in SL". For what? some "sim crashing bug"..
So the cure is to crash every party in a preimtive attack.

They should have enough sense to stop the restarts for 20 minutes from 11:50 PM to 12:10 Am at least. They started threatening us at 11:55PM and shut the sim down at Midnight exactly. We dropped the countdown ball and ran.

Live help feigned ignorance that it was an issue. But I notice the Linden New Year's party was not interrupted. Imagine that.

When will this company use some of the money they collect from us for effective customer service?

Did anyone notice that with the new 1.34 servers, when your avatar goes down a slope, it stops every meter or so and plays the "falling down anim" for a couple of second before resuming its walking ?

I should have mentioned this happens only in laggy sims, but still, I never noticed such an (annoying) issue before...

I have to second what Lias said. I'm another DJ who had a New Year's Eve party's planning turned to absolutely nothing by this stupid rolling restart business.

I find it odd that the Linden Lab party didn't suffer due to this, but those of us who are your paying customers have had ours completely trashed by all this stuff. And for what? To fix some supposed emergency that might happen but has never done any harm to us whatsoever, while we've had to sit back and watch real harm caused by the cure for this supposed disease we're expected to accept on faith exists even though there is absolutely no evidence presented to indicate that the disease ever existed in the first place?

A cure for a disease which does the patient more harm than what it's curing is not sound business practice.

In the future perhaps you might wish to treat your paying customers as paying customers and realize you owe us at the bare minimum, some consideration and respect. Which you have not done tonight.

How about telling us now that your emergency is over just what this so-called crisis was that you want us to believe you have averted?

im sorry but not on this day

1) its new years eve , its new year EVERY hour in sl for evryone, people who are online whants to celibrate prefered at there home (or whole sim) for some they had ball drop thing thats was been used, they now buyd that thing for noting

2) becose of all restarts in one day restarts where even slower then normal for most it took 25a40min for there sim to go back (ours 26min) our sim was back up 12:28 (us time) for what a bug that "COULD" be used to crach a sim (if it was content theft threatening i wouldend mind on that but a lazy crach bug comon go fix your other bugs then to) scared people where going to crach linden sims on newyears eve? then update your sims alone and leave rest of grid alone at least till tomorow

and for those who wanna say i shouldend be online on newyears eve, well i wasent i alredy celibrated newyears eve 6hours before us time, but it was nice i could do it again in sl 6hours later (i came home 10min before it and it was perfect and then you get a region restart with it)

I have been unable to upload images all morning. The little [uploading...] box appears onscreen, but it is accompanied by a blue box stating: Unable to Upload Asset. Is this related?

It seems all I had to do was inquire and it all started working again.

While it would be handy it won't work very well in the way roling restarts works right now,
those that remember when roling restarts where introduced remember the wave going from north to south or east to west across the map rather then host by host, this means that during the whole roling restart process you had sims running on different versions then what was on the hard drive, while this is possible it is not something you realy want and is slower because basicly they had to 2 rounds, one push the new server version, two restart the sims, now it is one sweep.
btw the delay button does work but only for a manual restart.
