My post #2 in that thread was genuine. It's true that this thread caused it to quickly come to mind, but there are a number of people here who resort to lies when it suits them, and there was nothing in it that hinted at any individual. The worst case of it that I've ever seen in a forum was some years ago in another forum, and that's the one I had in mind in my post #34 - about the victim not being able prove it was a lie, leaving the liar as the winner because readers couldn't know one way or the other. There is no hint at anything to do with you in either post, nor was any intended.

My post #34 couldn't have referred to you because it was shown clearly in this thread that you lied twice about me. Even Talarus, who tried to help you out of the hole, had to concede that you have no evidence for your statements, and so the best that could be said about them is that they were mistaken beliefs, and that would be an extremely generous judgement of them.

Your post #111 took a little unnamed snipe at me, or at least it read that way to me and probably to others too.

My post #143 took a little unnamed snipe at you.

Your post #147 took another unnamed snipe at me.

So rather than continue this thread in that thread, which I was tempted to do, I thought it better to suggest that you bring it here instead. It's better here than messing up another thread, don't you think?

Oh Nooooooooos!

I was just going to ignore the exhumation of this thread, until I had a peep at your post #143 in that other (SOPT) thread - which you say *was* a little snipe at me (albeit unnamed).

That post reads:
From: Phil Deakins
Or not preceding them with something like "imo" - unless they intend it to be read as fact, that is, in which case it's covered in post #2.

Houston, you have a problem!

Post #2 does not refer to me unless I intended what I posted to be interpreted as fact.
And you say that post #2 was not referring to me.
"There is no hint at anything to do with you in either post, nor was any intended."

Soooooo....
Are you saying that you don't believe that what I posted was intended to be interpreted as fact?

If so, when did this belief come about?

Er.... I don't know about Houston having a problem, but you seem to have a problem writing a post that can be easily understood, and I just don't understand your post. You seem to be interested in my posts #2 and #143, so...

Post #2 was a genuine response to the OP. It had nothing to do with you personally, other than this thread caused that thought to spring readily to mind.

Post #143 was a little snipe at you, just as your posts #111 and #147 were little snipes at me. If you're trying make out that they weren't, I did suggest that you don't try anything like that, because it's obvious to anyone who has read this thread, and those posts, that those posts contain snipes at me - not that anyone else would be particularly interested.

Btw, yes I do think that your posts were intended to be interpreted as facts (if that's the right word). It's just that they contained snipes at me personally. I assume they were meant for the topic of that thread every bit as much as all of my posts were meant. One of them incorporated a snipe at you, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a genuine post for that thread - it was. In fact, my #143 stated exactly what you stated in this thread and, if I'm not mistaken, you also said it in the other thread, so it can't be faulted for content. It's a shame that you are good at stating such ideals but no good at all at putting them into practise, but there you go.

It's weird how I keep ending up checking in on this thread, even thought I know it's a trainwreck...I'm still rubbernecking.

I can't believe I haven't posted here yet - talk about self-restraint huh?

I'm not sure that Trainwreck is the right term if stuff keeps happening.

Its more like a Flying Dutchman - doomed to sail the oceans forever.

It's pig-wrestling - but one in which each party thinks the other one is the pig.

Thinking about this "imo" thing.......

I'd consider putting an "imo" tag on my posts if Phil would put an "emo" tag on his.

There's some truth in that. The thread will drop down the order and disappear from view, as all threads eventually do, but it will always be there and could come back to haunt you at any time. So be careful what you write ;)
