Actually that is the debate, though. There is a lot of disagreement that the more "libertarian" type of small-government view is what is "truly conservative". Certainly the neocons don't agree, nor do the Jesus people -- both of them want bigger government, just with a different agenda from the left. In its essence it's an argument about whether conservative means (a) small government or (b) social conservatism (and using government to encourage the latter). There many "conservatives" who do not care for the views of Hayek et al, any longer because Hayek couldn't care less for traditionalism and was in favor of radical freedom and experimentation leading to civilizational progress -- they're more about "natural law" and all of that Christianist-inspired crap now.

This is why I stay aloof from parties and -isms. They're *all* whackos, in my mind. The only thing that makes sense to me is freedom.

Given that on the "War on Terror" page they have a list of statistics, one of which is "Towel Head Deaths - the world is a better place" (850,000 so far) I'm going to go with spoof.

They also miss-spelled "paedophile".

I struggle to believe that any real live person could possibly be named "Tristan J. Shuddery". This pushes the suspension of disbelief beyound all reasonable boundaries.

I particularly like their list of "Bands God Hates" - which includes Ravi Shankar and Sheryl Crow, yet God doesn't seem to have any objection to Slayer, Deicide and Morbid Angel.

Despite the poor spelling, the author sadly slips and gives away the fact that he/she is obviously well read and well educated - specifically, referring to Charles Darwin's "Origin of Species", which most people mistakenly call "Origin of the Species".

Although I can't fault their reasoning on "Anyone who has ever appeared in, listened to, rented or bought in any form the “musical” Rent" - nothing to do with the gay thing, it's just crap is all.
