I consider this theft.

Its just Linden Lab wont.

I imagine the OP was distracted when typing the ammount - due to whatever reason she coudlnt provide said service.

Of course evidently the guy who took the money wasnt very trustworthy. Depending on what services someone provides in Second Life - many of the customers wont be. Or they will lack respect for their service provider.

-------------

On the off chance it is a service he wouldnt like certain people knowing about -

Maybe wait till he gets a SL partner and have a candid conversation with her about the whole deal ;) .

It's not theft. It's the OP's stupid mistake and they need to chalk it up as a learning experience. There's no way I would return money paid to me in error by a stranger - a friend, yes, but not a stranger. Plus the OP didn't provide the service that was paid for. I call the extra cash compensation for having wasted your customer's time.

What solid proof? Chat logs? I can give you a chat log saying anything. The rule is in place for a good reason.

Chris is quite right. For one thing, we only have the OP's word on this. Second, even if we assume the OP is telling the truth and giving all the facts, it still seems to me that this person has done nothing wrong.

Sadly there is nothing you can do about it. I am a strong believer in karma. You just have to shrug it off and in time this person will get what is coming to them.
Avion, did you drink to this? :)

Nah - its theft.

If you try to buy a bagel hand someone your dollar then they come back and say they are out of bagels and give you a $10 back by mistake - you are not morally justified in keeping the extra $9.

Thought I ought to put this up. I was offering service to someone when I realized I couldn't go through with it.

I offered to return the money paid to this person which was 400L$.

I was upset at the time and did a typo and before I realized had typed in the wrong amount and pressed return to an amount totaling 2900L$. When I realized my mistake I immediately asked for the 2500L$ back, he refused and tp'd away. Despite my asking and pleading he refused and taunted me to complete the deal etc etc.
He has since refused to respond to any Im's

Anyway his name is **** ****** and he deserves something done for this, but I don't know if there is any thing I can do.

Anyone have any idea??

ty

Simple, Don't take money Up Front. Do the work, then do the cash transaction Upon completion of the Task. If it's an intangible, something that cannot be set to Sell, then Only work for people you Know, and Pay VERY close attention to ALL money Transactions. READ what you have done BEFORE you hit the "Send" button.

You've had an expensive lesson, but it's one you will remember. learn from it, and move on.

Angel.

k he wasnt proven guilty.

I think people know he ws involved.

he was Fininaically liable for their wrongful death. Thats seperate from the murder.

That never should have happened. He should have been protected from civil lawsuits by the aquittal on the murder case.

Course the fact they couldnt get a search warrant for the O'Hare airport lockers was the first miscarriage of justice involved.

I worked a few blocks from the restaurant where Goldman worked in Brentwood. Every day I walked from my car in fear because the "actual" killer was still at large.

I thought they got Andrew Cunanin, and he killed himself.

You were totally safe unless you had dated one of OJ's ex-wives.

Naming names on the forums is against the guidelines - so you might wish to go back an edit your post to not include his name.
What about an anagram of the name:

Anal Chime Jocks?

Or a nickname:

Wacko Jacko?
