Look at all the people who who had land stolen by landbots and the lovely response they got from fellow residents.

Almost as unfair as all of the landbots who spend time every day returning mistakes only to be lumped in with the ones who don't. But, hey, life isn't fair, is it?

Thought I ought to put this up. I was offering service to someone when I realized I couldn't go through with it.

I offered to return the money paid to this person which was 400L$.

I was upset at the time and did a typo and before I realized had typed in the wrong amount and pressed return to an amount totaling 2900L$. When I realized my mistake I immediately asked for the 2500L$ back, he refused and tp'd away. Despite my asking and pleading he refused and taunted me to complete the deal etc etc.
He has since refused to respond to any Im's

Anyway his name is **** ****** and he deserves something done for this, but I don't know if there is any thing I can do.

Anyone have any idea??

ty

You have just experienced the famous fat finger mistake and it cost you L$2500. While your mistake can easily be rectified with some common courtesy from another avie (and should be) I will hopefully make you feel better and admit to my worst fat finger mistake and I have made a few.

I was trading on the LindeX late one night and tired when I hit the wrong button. I got results that I didn't expect and went looking for what went wrong. When I found out what went wrong I calculated the loss from that mistake. The number in USD was something like $353.00. Yes with 1 wrong keystroke I lost $353.00 and since it was a trade executed on the LindeX it was irreversible, I was sick but I have learned to double check every transaction to make sure that is what I wanted to do.

i dont necessarily disagree with you.
but this was her first post and all and i knew she wasnt aware of the rule. i figured the decent thing to do was inform her of that rule and let her at least make an informed decision as to whether or not hey :)

So what?

Although, each story has two sides it's not too hard to find out if it's true or not as most people have solid proof of what they're saying. If you're interested enough it's not hard to find out either.

They should name these people who harass, abuse, steal and con people here in sl. Maybe then it wouldn't happen that often as it does now.

For some reason, I'm very curious about that myself.

When I talk about landbots who have stolen land, everyone knows who I'm talking about, but if You want to take that one personal go for it. You guys arn't saints, Your line cutters. You found a way to get ahead of everyone who worked hard to build up, so yea life isn't fair. but I am glad you give back errors. I'll send a sticker when I get more time so everyone knows you your the lesser of 2 evils when it comes to landbots.

Technically this is not a robbery - it's a theft

1. he is obviously a creep and a slimeball, and I have every sympathy with you.

2. I don't think you can say he 'robbed' you though, as you did make a mistake. all you have left to you is the moral high ground, sadly its a place that creeps and slimeballs never visit.

Mistakenly get some money which is not entitled and intend to permanently deprive the owner from it is a theft, not robbery.

This is sadly, LL is our God, the God to love us but not to shelter us. The order to SL is simple:

1) Highest: God's Power
2) Peer to Peer: Land Owner's Power
3) Personal: Property Owner's right

There is no other deviation. You learn a lesson from 2500 is cheap. The person who cheat your 2500 is cheap too.

Take it easy :)

Sounds to me like you HAVE done all you can do.... post and vent your frustration on the forums... this is like discovering you got the wrong change after you walked out of a shop....

Place a curse on the person that they will remain impotent, not have a life like yours, will suffer major hair loss and their teeth will fall out, all by the time they reach their next birthday.. make a serious typo when paying someone else and add a few 0's (preferabbly enough to make them skint).. loose all their friends, they should be walking down a city street in broad daylight and step in a big puddle of dog POO, while jerking about trying to wipe it off, stumble into a ladder which releases a bucket of bright pink waterproof paint all over him and some guys brand new car......

Wha???? we can all dream can't we? :D

I think I do my fair share of "working hard". You have sour grapes because our way is superior to yours. I do understand bitterness by those who long for the good old days, so no hard feelings for your petty little slights.

Well good news from my part anyway.

I sent some messages to groups he was in and lo and behold I have a message saying has repaid me.

Maybe he had second thoughts in second life hehehe

Good for you. :)

I doubt he had second thoughts as much as he was afraid people would know him for the way he actually is.

The only thing you have that you can show is a chat log. Plus and more importantly, this is what Linden tells you to send in. So whether you like it or not or think it's irrelevant it doesn't matter.
They also have records in the "transaction" site for proof of monetary exchange but as far as what the person themselves need and have is that log.

But why even bother with all this? Nothing is ever done anyway, we all know this.

If you read the latest posts on the thread you would see she got her money back.

Raymond, I've started a new drinking game where, after the reconcilliation post, I take a drink every time someone posts a response that says "there's nothing you can do," or "posting in this forum does you no good."

Reading before posting is not only courteous to the people who have already contributed, but it can save some embarrassment.

Sadly there is nothing you can do about it. I am a strong believer in karma. You just have to shrug it off and in time this person will get what is coming to them.

It's not "theft". It may be slimey and underhanded, but it is not theft. The receiver of the money did not solicit it, nor take any action to cause the extra money to enter his possession.

It doesn't make things any better in this situation, but take it as a learning opportunity for the future and move on.

Every time I see the M*** J*****, my brain wants it to be Michael Jackson. I know there aren't enough asterisks, but still...

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.
