Actually, it might be a good thing. If things like the financial scams make it to mainstream American news, it might prod LL into banning the activity once and for all.

Only when there were Clintons in the White House. That's because the U.S.A. hasn't existed except in name only since then. That silly old Constitution was such a nuisance. /me has made his political statement of the day and hides before it starts getting heated. _____________________

:\ the 'clintons' (remember, only -one- was prez at the time :| ) had a very nice anti-terrorism program going on. t'was only after the supreme court decided another bushie was prez that the program was thrown out in whole and 9-11 happened. pardon if that's considered 'opinion', but actually... IT'S NOT.

That silly old Constitution was such a nuisance. /me has made his political statement of the day and hides before it starts getting heated. Huh? The least constitutional Presidency was that of Lincoln. http://www.slate.com/id/2059132/ Rivaled by Roosevelt http://www.infoplease.com/spot/internment1.html And don't forget Nixon http://watergate.info/ While there are some definite problems in the Bush Administration, claiming the USA no longer exists and Presidential abuse of power it is somehow unprecedented is basically untrue. |

While there are some definite problems in the Bush Administration, claiming the USA no longer exists and Presidential abuse of power it is somehow unprecedented is basically untrue. Ok, you have me. I didn't think anyone would take my comment that the USA no longer exists literally. I'm terrified at the direction we're heading but we aren't there yet. My real terror is with the American people and how complacent we've become. I guess I should therefore be grateful someone worse than Bush isn't in power. Just because there is a precedence for abuse of power doesn't make it right. _____________________

Stop panicking, the correction will happen Next year, the democrats will get in and they will have 8 years to run the country into the ground their way. It's the natural cycle. _____________________

Stop panicking, the correction will happen Next year, the democrats will get in and they will have 8 years to run the country into the ground their way. It's the natural cycle. insensical: yyyyyeah gee, everyone is f***ed up in exactly the same way. die now. relieve yourself the agony... sensible: nnnnnnnooooo... not everything/everybody/every party is f***ed up. you may not like everything done within a chosen party... but practically, 80% right is better than 10% wrong. the 'lip service' -is- important. israel was -disappointed- that only -98%- of the populace turned out last election. feel so red-white-and-blue proud now?????? add up the electoral college numbers and do the math... the original 1700s' revolution didn't even take a third of the colonial 'population' to revolt. do your history, too...._____________________

Yeah, you're pretty much right there. I'm actually very conservative in many ways but I don't see either party as being conservative. To me my decision over which party to choose comes down to which one shows more support to me as a gay man. That makes it an open and shut case for me. Beyond that I don't see too much difference between the parties. Neither is for small government. Only difference in that sense is what each defines small government as. _____________________

About this "Bush the Dictator" attitude, I think people are focused on the wrong things. The biggest change in Presidential Power since World War 2 is the ability to wage conflict of indefinite length without a declaration of war. Its become no longer politically expedient to declare wars. How can the bill of rights stand when the separation of powers has been willingly overturned? |

One side favors Big Business running rampant while the other fosters the Welfare-Nanny State. In the end, the average citizen gets the finger. _____________________

In the end, the average citizen gets the finger. yah, sure... and -this- is equal in terms... "Want to get a glimpse at how much emphasis the administration is putting on research into solving energy issues? Take a look[...]" http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2007/11/12/10595/639 whew, let's put this in alphabetical terms.... "nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny nanny"... okay, that's only 10X10 nanny's for the argument (how much the u.s. gov't spends vs. energy independence - and that's not even enough). yah, yowze, sign my tax mon up for the losing game... _____________________
