I have been selling poses and animations since 2004. I sell loads of my child poses and some of my photoposes (like Backs) have sold over 1000 copies.

The thing is I think with animations, everyone knows the big guns in secondlife. I personally go out of my way to find others. Yes the big ones are great, but i have found some really great poses from small even tiny shops and they are beautifully done. I find some of the big guys some of the poses are not to my liking, arms go thru, they are too fast or just dont seem to mesh. One of my fav's for still poses is MEYA! and mature animations Play Sexy Animations. I just find the smaller operations more friendly and the owners are still in the customer appreciation business. Though it all comes down to customer service for me. I wont buy from a bigger animation place because of their poor customer service and well downright poor attitude towards their clients, but then again thats my choice.

I say give the lesser knowns some publicity, I find they are the ones that take the time to be the best at what they do and its not a production line of unknown faces behind the "company"

Anyone know where I can find an AO for a fuller figure? I don't like BBW, that is too big. There was a suggestion in another thread but I did not see any size options. I am tired of losing my hands inside my hips - it hurts! LOL

Kate, I saw one just the other day at the Animation Warehouse. I'm not sure of the vendor, but I *think* it was Reel Movement. It might also have been for a BBW too...you'll have to demo it and see if it suits.

I have written down the names of the some of the animators listed in this thread and have gone out to sl exchange to take a look. I plan to visit some of them inworld. I have alot of animations from well known animators and that is because in part I am not familar with the lesser known animators. Try using search for a listing is very challenging.

ahem.. my partner makes the sweetest animations.. and has a steady fan club for her stuff..
at the moment we use them only in our furniture but look out for an animations only section in the near future.

There are three that I use quite often that I haven't seen listed yet:

Raymation (mostly mature)

Luna Animations (mostly mature)

and

Maar Auer Animations (couples dances.) Her couple's Charleston is a hoot, and she has a couple of waltz-like dances.


Also, the creator of the Intan Couple Dance Ball maintains a web site that lists all the couples animations for which she provides notecards to use in the Intan. It has a large number of animations listed there. You can see it at:

poseballs = Bits & Bobs

Might as well plug myself... I started a little pose shop a couple months back and I have a few things in there now. More are coming. Mostly sex animations at the moment, but I have some model poses and a sit pose that I managed to make before I was once again swamped with custom orders.

I definitely fit the criterion for "lesser known".

Do a search for Rosse Animations. My store is on Crocus Island. There's also a pick in my profile.

I sell copy/trans to builders who agree to an end user license. No, they are not cheap but I take pains to release high quality animations and make sure your investment is protected by NOT selling copy/trans to the general public (where they'd end up in BIAB and freebie boxes.) If the animations are put into quality furniture I have no doubts that you will quickly recover your costs.

Always looking for suggestions, and working on a bed engine as well, as I get the time (but I'm busy in RL a lot...)

Maar Auer's dances are great, quite complex anims, a little frenetic, great things to have for a little variety. The "mod" versions, though ... which you need if you are going to put one in an dance ball or Intan ... are quite pricey.

I'll re-issue the card in a bit ... I've come across a few myself

Why would one need mod perm on an anim to use it in a dance machine? (I have no idea what the Intan stuff does that would need it either, unless it wants to use the anim name for something--which it shouldn't.)

Maar made the poseballs on her inexpensive sets not modifiable so you could not get the animations out of them. That is a requirement for the Intan Dance Ball. The ones where you can get the animations out are priced at 700 per set.

Although the last time I checked her store, the less expensive sets were no longer available.

I personally liked that pricing structure. It made the dances available to the mass public at a reasonable cost and allowed the club owners to place them into their dance balls (at a slightly higher cost.) After all, the Intan allows multiple couples to dance on one set of animations at the same time.

All products are copy/mod, and you are free to chop them up or rez any number (ideal for landlords). mod/xfer/no-copy versions will be available inworld, coming soon. Currently, no plans for copy/xfer, but I'm still thinking about that. I hope to make a line of freebie sits & cuddles before long.

jPose Castle has mostly sex animations: MLPV2 bed cover, couples, 3some/4some and orgy poseball sets. I also have a freebie sit poseball which I will add to the shop's notecard giver (when I get around to getting my distributor to setting up the notecard giver...) Folks are also free to use jPose Castle for their enjoyment; no purchase (or clothing) necessary.

In the process of working on MLPV2, I've met a number of good small-shop animators, and I'll let them know about this post so they can add themselves as well.
