I don't know about you, but I get tired of seeing the same terrific animations from Bits and Bobs, Abranimations, Animazoo, Pillow Talk, Reel Expressions, Vista ... the big guys.

I recently went to Anti Antonelli's store, as well as Dielli Design, and saw some great things! I want to put together a notecard tour of some smaller places that have interesting anims.

No, they don't have to be owned by forum people! Please post here with YOUR recommendations for small animator shops to visit. Animations, not static poses, please, and also not dances or gestures ... need to limit the list somehow! Full AOs as well as standalone anims are fine. Special-purpose AOs, eg mermaids, also fine.

I'd prefer it if you have actually seen, and liked, an animation from the place. Lord knows there are a lot of meh! animators out there.

/me sits back and hopes for a place with a cute female skip anim!

(and shudders at the thought of a cute male skip anim)

2nd Frame (search for "second frame" in classifieds)

M&P (search for " m&p " in classifieds)

Mr. P's (search for " p's " in places)

Motion Merchant (search for "motion merchant" in classifieds)

Sorry I had to give you information on how to search for them as it can be quite hard to find some shops. And yes I have bought something from each of these shops.

I still love Pillow Talk also :)

Sexy Motions was one I found that has some good ones, I think that is the name. I'm not inworld right now, but I'm almost positive that's it.

Anybody ever heard of Payne and Despair? Look at this!

Pretty bizarre, huh?

I just remembered that there's a place with an AO to use with narrow skirts, it's a great little Steampunk shop, I'll look it up.

COME ON FOLKS! Obscure shops with cool anims ....

Memetar. (Spelling Corrected (^_^)y)

Almost everything is 10L and the Denguri ani makes a great "run" for a freaky AO. (^_^)

For some cool stands/poses try 'Kim's Pad', small selection but ones you wont see all over SL. Another one is 'Mamesando' they have the standard AQ poses but with a twist. Some very unique ones at both places.

Cova AO has really cute cartoony girl and boy AOs and the prices are really good for stuff that's animated and not all static poses.

Oo and Akaneko Nagy makes silly silly pose balls. I can't find the shop in the places doodad but here is a slurl! http://slurl.com/secondlife/KanazawaSLing/138/233/22

While the list is being made, any that offer full perms? So far Bits & Bobs is all I've found. I'd love it if there's some others out there.

The furniture from Dielli Designs is really great. I have several things from there. :)

Wow, thanks for stopping by and thinking to mention my little shop. Great idea for a thread too. I only wish I'd had more time lately to go searching/browsing/shopping so I could add something useful :/

*takes notes anyway*

Thanks for starting this thread Nika. This should be a sticky ... all of us who make stuff surely want special animations :)

I stopped by Payne and Despair earlier. Those will make for some fantastic photos.

Having bought the whole set, I suddenly got a sizeable refund from Jonny Dusk, the creator, as he was in the process of making a discounted fat pack. That really impressed me - he didn't have to do that at all. The poses are superb, and the setting for the demos is pure atmosphere. Nice one, Jonny.

Yay Nika, good idea! Can you make up a notecard with LM's? I'm super interested in this topic but have no good suggestions. :o

Okay, I'll admit I have some stake in this as my own shop is there too, but have a look at Animation Universe in Grolphook (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Grolphook/104/175/134) - a whole mall with lesser known animators' shops. Most of these people offer both custom work and full perms upon request. What's really cool is the search engine that will direct you to the right shops when you're looking for something specific.

Omni Corp's Omnimations has an AO that's different from the norm and that I like. Sorry, don't have a LM.

I plan to! I'll put it in a vendor ... perhaps the same one that the "Forum Business" notecard is in ... at the Place that Shall Not Be Named ... and of course will make it available to anyone else who'd like to distribute it.

This is turning out really well, please do update with locations of the shops you all mention! And keep 'em coming! Thanks much to everyone so far ...

Maybe (?) less well-known--at least not mentioned here all the time (except by me :o ): Pulaski Fizz's "AV Puli". Ricky Shaftoe's "Rickymations". Parsalin Gullwing's "Dark Side" (mostly naughty).

What a wonderful idea Nika! I am on the look out for good animations and talented animators as well. In my theatre troupe, we sometimes have need for specific custom anims. This list will come in handy.

You came so close :) it's Curio Obscura, check Pandora Wrigglesworth's profile for lm.
She has the 'hobble' or tight skirt animations. Her newest animation features a very small old fashioned car "squeeze" in..Your av climbs in one leg at a time and ducks their head, then folding up inside in a way that will make you roll with laughter :)

I've been hunting waltzes for our spring cotillion. Yes, i know you said 'no dances' but these are especially hard to find outside of Craig's over at BnBobs. I am yet to find other two person ballroom dances as well. If anyone's willing to slide that note under my door inworld or something i'll actually pay to find them :D lol it's so hard !
Also, i found a super AO from a store that i have on my picks. I can't log in atm but it's a Japanese store, anime things included, the AO has a flight anim that looks like a pixie flutter (sort of what you'd imagine Tinkerbell to do with her hands fluttering at the wrists while 'dangling' in the air bobbing up and down) and also several katana-esque motions as stands. I'll update this post asap with full name. The flutter is a must have for any cute winged pixie, fairy, sprite.

I just purchased the John Durant Motion Merchant "Formal Escort" down a runway last night, which looks highly promising (basically a walk arm in arm system). Wish i could find one of these for coming down a grand staircase!!!
