LL hasn't tried to trademark the word stability in connection with virtual world operation. I wonder why not.
if they would do that, the only thing people would thinking of when hearing "LL" or "LR" is:
LOLOL or LOL Researching

the bots in your head made me do it

They "updated" things on Wednesday to help with stability so now things actually break faster? Na now they can fudge the #'s so they look better lol It would be nice if they got the server side fixed instead on these patches but anyone thats been here long enough knows they cant fix it.. or they would have by now. REALLY need to bring Cory back and fire someone else lol _____________________

OK. Don't call me a conspiracy theorist. The response to "Whatever happened to ..(a year+old blog posting about restricting logins) was: this new plan has a higher chance of making it look like they have lots of people logged in all the time .. LL (c) the ultimate traffic gamers (tm). |

I finally get it. Land is now 40% cheaper because the Grid is only usable 40% of the time. Yet somehow I don't see them reducing classifieds 40% too.

They renumbered a bunch of server internet addresses, which may or may not include a physical move of the boxes. Yeah, I've heard they're now stacking them up to 4000 m high. |

And once again the bots come up without anyone knowing they are responsible for any of the stress. As I pointed out before, bots surely are not a big load to the asset servers at they have barely inventory. Neither do they have big friendlists, they do not search, get not involved in group IM's, so in my opinion they are not the problem. The growing amount of real users are. But it seems that bots are easier to blame ![]() You are absolutely right. Bots don't generate as much stress on the server as warm bodies do. But then bots are not very good at keeping the SL economy afloat, either. Premium account holders unable to log on repeatedly may tier down and switch to basic. I am afraid that a blanket denial of logons is not helping in improving LL's bottom line. |

Would be nice if they at least TOLD me IN-GAME that if I rebooted I would not be allowed to log back in !, I was in and running mostly just fine except I had an issue with an attachment so I figured, "no big deal, I'll just relog and the world will be a happy place !" that was until I was told logins were shutdown for stability reasons. I am a Network technician, I wonder how my contracts would feel if I said, "Midday when you are busiest I am gonna shutdown one of your servers and not let anyone new access them for an undetermined amount of time" Wonder how that would go over.

I vote we take up a collection and hire Sidewinder Linden ourselves to make the asset system work and fix transactions.

And you think the bots, bouncing from sim to sim at second intervals to search for land, items and vacant camping spots don't use resources? Put a logger out and watch how many "visitors" come in and out of mainland sims each hour without even rezzing. _____________________

They really would prefer as many inworld as possible doing nothing, than to have a smaller group utilizing all of the features of the service. They really don't get it. I give all the ddicated SL enthusiasts out there, but I'm about done with it all. Between all the business nonsense in world issues and viewers that you have to increasingly have to fiddle with and adjust,it's just too much for the casual entertainment I'm looking for. I 'll leave virtual reality to hardier souls. Whoever can get inworld can have my stuff. I can't even bother to try to sell or abandon my land. _____________________
