There's definitely fewer decent outfits available for guys. It's not as bad as it was in 2005 when the only outfits I could find were either masquerade costumes or pimp bling, but *damn*

did not see the other thread, not gonna bother to look now...
however.. I get a lot of guys asking me to make male clothes, so when I ask them, what sort of clothes, they reply with .... dunno well, how am I (being a female) supposed to know what guys want, when the guys themselves do not even know LOL (I am working on some tshirts, in various colors, which I will eventually put out I guess....) _____________________

I am exactly the same, just got some stuff and haven't really changed. I was happy with the boots so I'll re mention their makers here in the new thread Sn@oks, really good big chunky black boots. Also got my *I* t shirt!! When it's time for a new t shirt, I'd love one that hung lower down my belly and was looser. |

I have a male alter-ego and last night I finally remembered his password (after months and months of getting locked out of the account) and decided it was time to take him shopping and it was SO NOT FUN.
I'm always in a dither when I go shopping for myself, but it's a dither of too much choice. The dither for my male self was TPing all over the place only to find such slim pickings. I'm trying to kit him up fairly rockabilly-styled, so here is what I've found so far: Artilleri (http://artilleri.blogspot.com/ just added a schwack of men's clothes, which is what made me want to get my man dressed in the first place. I really LOVE their jeans, FWIW) Hell Bop (http://hellbop.com/) Then, because I liked the look of the models so much at Artilleri, I IMed Antonia and asked her what hair they wore, so spent some time at: KMADD (http://www.kmaddcity.com/page/page/6441148.htm) Truth I also have some hair by Bryce. And I picked up some awesome PornStar high top sneakers, which I love a lot. I'm still looking for a skin, and I'll probably end up buying a shape. Interestingly, my shape is custom made by me, but when it comes to trying to shape a guy, I find it harder to come up with something I like. I wouldn't think of buying a shape for Looli, but for ol' whatshisname, I just can't be bothered spending hours on the slider. |

B@re rose has shed loads of outfits, unless you're not happy being a mighty wizard or something, try UK Couture for you run of the mill normal looking person stuff.

Oh, and I'd really like some pants with a belt! Built-in, because I hate seeing belt-loops without a belt in them, and the prim belts I've bought never seem to sit properly.

When you guys stop creating avatars with torsos that look like monstrous triangles, you MIGHT see some stripes. ![]() _____________________

I responded in the other thread.
Here are some resources for good clothes: Husky Gfx - wide range of different "era" clothing, but also kilts and armor. SF Design - Great source for formal clothing including tuxedos, waistcoats, and button down shirts. DE Designs - there are three areas for men's clothes here. More or less gothic style clothing, leather and latex upstairs, and men's casual and business attire. It's not bad for the price, and they have a decent selection. Lapointe and Bastchild - Most of this stuff is gothic, but they do have some great tuxedos and suits, and really awesome looking shoes. Little Britain - more punk inspired, but a lot of ripped jeans, teeshirts, wifebeaters. AVID - mostly gothic inspired, but some of the stuff there is pretty nice looking if you're into the frock coat/coat tails kind of thing. RFyre - not my favorite, as the clothing tends to be a bit. . .er. . .flamboyant (rather on the bare rose scale of flamboyant) and a bit expensive, but they have a couple of pretty nice 18th century suits. GothiCatz - good place for casual stuff; ripped jeans, jackets and such. Sn00ks and Silentsparrow are both on the flamboyant side (e.g.Liberace style), but they both have some interesting stuff if you're into that sort of thing. Falln - Not really my style, but I did find a nice looking pinstripe suit there. It's not impossible to find stuff for guys, but it can be a challenge. Most of my stuff is purchased off xstreet because I just don't have the patience to wait for a store to rez, only to find out it's all female clothing. I never buy Teeshirts. It's easier for me to make my own. _____________________

This was mostly from Little Britain. I can't remember where I got the hat or the flannel shirt.

Striped shirts with the stripes NOT getting all horribly stretched and squeezed about the back; in vivid purple and white, in lime green, canary yellow, and black; on shirt and undershirt layers. Waistcoats in earthtones and pastels; cable-knit sweaters in cream and olive and navy; on jacket and shirt layers. Slacks with belts in tan, beige, navy, powder blue, and cinnamon. Paisley and tie-dyed scarves. Peasant shirts in grey, brown, burgundy, and teal. Caftans and dashikis and kilts and jackets with ruffles and slashed sleeves. Caftans and peasant shirts are really difficult to find - for men or women. I once spent a whole day searching. _____________________

thanks for the insight guys (some of that looks a little beyond my abilities or patience LOL)

Weston, you can't post that without giving sources for the awesome clothes! Sorry, my bad. On the left is a mixture of stuff. Baker-boy cap from Cutting Edge. Pinstripe shirt from King for Men. Waistcoat by Mako Magellan. Slacks and belt from Sartoria. On the right is a complete outfit called Howard 3 from INDI Designs. The striped beret is included. It's a year old or so. Okay, I'll quit now before I let go any more of my guyhood. |
